  1. Hi Hubbers If you commute too and from work in the Stellenbosch or Somerset West areas, or cycle on the roads in either of these areas, and are interested in testing a new cycling sensor, please drop me an email Benoit.Capostagno@garmin.com. We have a new feature that we are currently testing, which is integrated into our test bikes (we will provide you with an eBike for the testing) The ideal use case would be commuters, but anyone who regularly rides in the areas (our offices are in Techno Park) and is interested in testing a new cycling sensor, please feel free to respond too. Thank you. Ben
  2. Good morning! If you have an eBike with a Yamaha Motor System (any of the PW series motors), please get in touch with me. We are looking for some bikes with these specific motor systems, NOT the Sync Drive from Giant. Cheers Ben

  5. Good morning Hubbers We are looking for some E-Bike users who ride their E-Bikes AT LEAST three times a week. If you are based in Stellenbosch or Cape Town and use you E-Bike at least three times a week and would be interested in using a new Garmin device on their rides for a week or two, please drop me an email Benoit.Capostagno@Garmin.com. We are limiting this to users in Stellenbosch and Cape Town, because we need to move the test units between testers. If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me directly. 9. Fair question Fanie. Unfortunately, our product development office is based here and we won't be able to get the units out to other areas. Kind regards Ben
  10. Hi Hubbers I am looking for some cyclists who currently use a Garmin Varia (bike radar) who would be interested in testing a related product. Cheers Ben
  11. Hi James The evidence for the use of compression garments during exercise to enhance performance is very limited at the moment. There may well be a benefit, but it has yet to be shown convincingly through a randomised controlled trial. I wish I could give you a more definitive answer. Thanks for the question. Kind regards Ben
  12. Hi Divs You can drop me an email on Ben@sciencetosport.com and I can send you our information sheet. Alternatively, please check out www.sciencetosport.com Kind regards Ben

  14. Hi everyone We still have a few spots left, so if you are interested, or would like to find out more, please email me. Have a great week. Cheers Ben
  15. Hi Lizzy Yes, that is a fair question. We are trying to study the physiological effects of certain training interventions. When we do these type of trials we need to keep the 'sample' of the population as homogenous (the same) as possible. This minimises the effect of other factors that could influence responses (gender included). Female cyclists and athlete's in general are generally an under researched population. Keep an eye on our website for opportunities to become involved in our research studies http://essm.uct.ac.za/ Kind regards Ben
  16. Thanks for the overwhelming response everyone. We still have a few spots open, so get in touch if you are keen to take part. Have a great weekend. Cheers Ben
  17. Hi Malcolm Apologies for this oversight on our part. I'll be sure to get the results to you by the end of the day. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Have a great day. Ben

  21. Hi duringd Yes, or those planning on riding the 2013 Cape Epic. Kind regards Ben
  22. We use a sub-maximal test to monitor training adaptation and one of the key performance measures in the test is heart rate recovery. We are unsure how heart rate recovery is affected during the menstrual cycle. As a result we are focusing only on males for this particular study.
  23. We have about 6 spots left Carmichael. Would you like to take part?
  24. Hi sometime Unfortunately, we require the participants to come in for a 17 minute test once a week. I am guessing that your current location will prevent you from taking part. I appreciate your interest in the study. Kind regards Ben
