Needs some help for a friend. This power meter is missing something.  I assume it some sort of battery assembly.  Can't find replacement parts.  Google not very helpfull.

What is missing and is this power meter be rescuable?

    Thanks

  2. Saw a cyclist lying on the road with somebody assisting him around 17H30.  Got the impression he was hit by a car.

This was on the corner of Cliffendale and Tipperary in Faerie Glen. Just past Atterbury Road close to Hotspot.

Anybody knows if the guy is OK.

  3. Hi all

In Bloem the weekend of the 19th. Looking for suggestions for a long MTB ride (district roads +/- 100km) out and back to Bloemfontein.

Petrusburg, Dealesville, Edenburg of iets in daai rigting.  Winkel langs die pad om n coke te koop sal nice wees.

    Dankie

  4. Reviving an old discussion.

Busy converting my old 3x9 to a 1x9. I have a XT M772 derailleur. Looks like it is a long cage. The distance between the pulleys is approximately 10cm.  From the discussion above it seems like it will work with the Sunrace cassette.  My LBS said it is not going to work and that there is actually another derailleur from Shimano specifically for the wide range cassette.

Any feedback/advice on the XT derailleur and the Sunrace wide cassette would be appreciated.

PS.  Have been to several shops in PTA east and nobody has the 9sp wide cassette in stock. Everybody waiting for stock

  5. Hi

I have a triple cranset of which the 104 BCD cannot be used. Looking for a 1x chainring for the 64 BCD position. The biggest I was able to find was a 32T from absolute black. Are bigger sizes available,  e.g. 36T or 38T?

Alternatively an adapter to change the 64 BCD to 104 BCD or to Direct Mount.  Found a lot to adapt from DM to BCD but nothing for BCD to DM

    Thanks

  6. Got my Team Vitality email a few days ago with discount codes for the the run and cycle kit. Have been struggling for 3 days to place the order.  The run kid is ordered from Sportmanswharehouse.  I can't get past the page where you enter your log in detail and address.  It keep asking me to re-enter the address. I phoned Sportsmans and they said they are aware of problems with their website. Apparently black Friday is the cause.  I seriously doubt it.  Not for 3 days.

The cycle kit is ordered via Cycle lab.  I get a 404 error (page not found) when i use the link in the Vitality email.  I then go directly to cycle lab's website  and select the jersey.  When I get to check out and redeem the voucher code I get an "expired code" error. Phoned Vitality and they gave me a new code.  Still get the same error.  Don't think the problem is with the code.

Anybody else experiencing the similar problems or have been successful in ordering your kit.  Just need to make sure the problem is not on my side before I start complaining.

  7. Flying to George Thursday afternoon with bike in a box. Anybody with recent experience with Kulula and a bike. Website indicate no limitation on dimension and no extra cost as long as it is below 20kg

  8. GCN+ subscription already worth every cent :) Feed quality has actually been brilliant. I reckon if more Saffers subscribe, they will be able to steal the sole broadcast rights away from DSTV for the big events. Looks like almost everything except Tour, Paris Roubaix and a few stage races will be available for us down south this year.

This looks like a great deal. Does the app allow multiple logins at the same time like Netflix. Could not find any info on the website

  9. If you degrease your chain you need to rinse well then put it in the oven at 80deg till all the water has evaporated from inside, then most important you need to do a submersion oil or wax treatment. Drippy drops after a degreasing wont get into the chain where it counts most

I have overdone the cleaning/degreasing this weekend.  Did a lot of "drippy drops" but realized it is not adequate.  What submersion oil and wax do you recommend

  10. Hi

Looking for a replacement strap for my Caterpillar watch.  Been to a couple of shops in Pretoria and also tried online without any luck.  Seems like it is an unusual strap width vs lug width combination.  The lug width is 8 m while strap is +/- 18 mm.

Any recommendation where i can get straps or one made.

    Thanks
