  1. Shucks, missed out on the "affordable" charity entries. were gone in 60 seconds. Any how, still looking for an entry.
  2. Ok Hubbers, who has an ultra entry for us
  3. My wife was lucky and she got an entry via the ballot system for 21k and I lost out. Phoned them and pleaded for an entry, but nothing. Only option is a charity entry or substitution. So, any Hubber out there who has an available entry???
  4. Hi Hubbers, especially those in the PTA East Area Please support this event. It is a fundraiser for SunRise Road NPC. They do several charitable initiatives and projects such as a Afterschool Care and learner support, Trauma Support, Assisting people in finding jobs etc. They focus on the PTA east area. The MTB event is more fun orientated than race (racing snakes are also welcome) and is for whole family. Have a look at their website http://www.sunriseroad.org.za/About-Us/
  5. Registration very quick this afternoon. 60km for me tomorrow. Well done to them for organising it for free. Looking forward.
  6. C batch Happy with my seeding.
  7. Great, found them at Evobikes (online). In CT on monday. Will have a look. Tried Sidi this morning. Was supprised that it fit. Toe area wide enougth. Thanks hubbers
  8. Hi, looking for a LBS that sells Diadora MTB shoes, preferably PTA or CT. Have a pair of diadora road shoes and they fit perfectly for my wide feet and high arch. Thanks Ps. Solomons don't have
  9. Tx Scotty Already registered or entered? or is it the same thing.
  10. According to seeding email, number collection only Thurs, Fri and Saterday. But according to website it is still possible to collect on Sunday morning from 5. Does anybody know if one can on Sunday?
  11. My V800 just stopped charging and I was unable to sync. Went to Polar in Midrand to have a look at it. They tried to soft reset, hard reset. Nothing worked and I started to hear the $ in my head. The watch is almost two years old and probably out of warranty. To add to it, the strap was broken and I expected to pay for a new one. Waiting to hear excuses and blaming me for doing something wrong. Without any issues it was replaced with a brand new one. Thanks Ryan (??) and Polar Midrand. My 1st watch was a Polar HRM before I upgraded to the V800. With such service, the next one will also be a Polar.
  12. Hope this is the right place to post. So, tomorrow I will by in centre of the universe, Paris!! Took a wide return trip from Austria. Any suggestion on the best plan of action tomorrow. Where and how late. I would like to be close to the finish, but I assume so does another few thousand other people. Also, where would be the best place to get some souvenirs. Hope some Hubbers has been here previously and can give me some advice
  13. Weight it on my wifes kitchen scales. Vroulief was nie happy daaroor. Ksyrium 100g per wheel less than Aksium. Rolling resistance is very similar. Thanks for help
  14. Hi there I have a set of Aksium Race and Ksyrium Equipe. Did a google search and seems as if the Ksyrium is the better choice. What do you think?
  15. Where are results posted? Had a look at saseeding and dualx website and did not see it
  16. Had a look at the results and was surprised by the number of people who entered and did not race. It was the case for both the full and the lite. In general triathlon races are expensive (at least for me), but at R600, Xterra is value for money in comparison to other triathlon races and a costs effective alternative. Route markings and water points were excellent. Nice vibe at the finish. Great event. They should organise more events up north!!
  17. Many thanks to the person who picked up my waterbottle toolbox during the mtb leg and handed in. You saved me a couple 100 rands. The mtb was thought and the run was brutal. Shaved 45 min of my previous time. Happy with myself. Next year sub 4.
  18. O my liewe ouers. There I thought I was loosing my mind. My buddies did not believe me. Even when we were riding together it only happened to me. I can now stop with the therapy. But, seriously my nuts realy get a proper shock. I usually ride standing with legs wide open.
  19. Looks like weather will be nice and cool. 25 and overcast. Not to much rain during the week. Hopefully no mud. Wonder if it will be a wetsuit swim
  20. Doing the full. Did not do any swimming over festive season besides playing in the swimming pool. Did some MTB and not enought running. Looking forward to it. Just hope the weather is nice.
  21. O my genugtig, The Alpha. Saw my 1st movie there. James Bond's For your eyes only. Unfortunatly, the Hoefie is not that great anymore.
  22. Visted my parents this weekend and did a easy ride between Welkom and OD. Used to ride my bike from OD to Welkom to go and watch a movie (without my parents approval). My bike gave me so much freedom to explore and to escape from all the stuff that bothers a young teenager. 30 years later I still use my bike to explore and to escape from the stresses in the world. Amen to such a privilege. Ps. Dit is flippen plat in die Vrystaat.
  23. Went past Botlierskop this morning and saw some elephants. Thereafter Big Dipper and back to Hartenbos. Apparently there were some flood damage and some of the crossing entailed ankle high water. Excellent views
