Are their slower riders eg women/children/ doing the Engen ride during the week? What time do they start?

Hi all, A friend of mine is a beginner cyclist and wants to get out onto the road in the mornings. Actually, he's my boss! He stays in Morningside/Sandton and is VERY concerned about the traffic. Are there any recognized routes/groups in the area or shall I just tell him to drive to Kyalami and do his stuff there? He is a rank beginner so would be rather slow but is keen. Any advice would be appreciated.

Owen doesn't seem so bad to me. Doubt it is as easy as when you are just having a conversation at the coffee shop. Don't forget SS is not just for "expert " cyclists, they have to cater for 1000s of fun riders etc.
