Should probably have specified, for my road bike!

Good day all, I have been searching this forum and waiting for someone to write a proper review on these? I know they are available at a few shops around JHB. I am seriously considering them but cant get myself to buy them without some proper feedback. Is there anyone on here that has tried them? This was my second D2D and most probably my last! I feel taken advantage of by the organisers! For that entry fee i expected much more, and then i was forced to pay R10 for parking! If things dont change they wont see me again! Parking was horrible, everything was full of dust! The bathrooms smelled like a rotten corpse from far away, and they obviously did not feel it was necessary to clean up after the animals that had a lekker saturday afternoon at the picnic area, I was surprised at the litter on the lawns. And I had to pour some warm coke into my bottle post race as there were no cups or volunteers... Very disappointed!

Hi Guys, This has probably been stated somewhere, but i cant find it. What is the latest time we should be in the pens for a Second loop? and which group would that be? Got seeded in B and hoping for a 2:45. So that should mean i'm back at around 9:15/9:20 if all goes well.. wouldn't mind to freshen up, get some more supplies and then join the guys for a fun second loop.. thanks in advance

Hi guys, So, the week before 2014 94.7 I decided I need a new Bib. I shopped around for quite sometime looking for best value for money. I decided on First Ascent -Pro Elite Bib- which was very comfortable and well padded. To date the bib has done about 16 rides on my road bike and about 2 on my MTB. I haven't fallen once and always took great care in washing. Last weekend after our club ride I realised that the stitching on the one inside leg has become properly undone and it started on the other side too. Is it normal for an "ELITE" bib to last so short? I only started cycling a year ago and received a cheap bib with the CL club when I joined. This bib has done about 3000kms and many MTB falls and is still in great condition. Now here is the bummer. I took it back to Cycle Lab where I bought it from and unfortunately i made the mistake of throwing the slip away, so now they cant help me with a replacement (which is fair enough) but they recon that First Ascent wont replace it without the proof of purchase either. Guess im learning the hard way. Wikus

I bought a 2015 Anthem X29 Alu just before Christmas. I have only dont about 300 kms on it and really enjoying it. my only complaint so far is that i have a creak that started on the second ride. I think its coming from the crank as i can hear it on the down stroke on my right leg. its starting to drive me insane. sometimes its worse and sometimes its completely gone. Thought it was only my bike, but over the weekend I rode behind someone on exactly the same bike and he has the exact same creak coming from his bike. Its going for its first service next week. Hopefully they will be able to sort it out. I cant recreate the sound any other time than when im riding. (any suggestions??) The first thing ill change on the stanard bike is ill look from some lighter wheels! the P-xc2 wheels feel like they are made from lead. other than that, its a great bike with great components! nothing compares in that Price range.

these guys are a bunch of thieving assholes!! Im selling quite a few things on gumtree and olx. had a guy phone me couple months back for something he wants to buy for his church. Was so eager he offered me more money than what i was advertising it for. next thing i get a computer generated SMS from "nedbank" and a Proof of payment emailed to me. i was busy that afternoon so told the guy i wont be home but he can collect in the morning after i confirmed with the bank funds that funds will clear. he got very aggressive and said his courier is coming to collect, he doesnt mind coming after midnight when i got home. needless to say money never cleared and i never heard from him again. day later the phone number he used wasnt working anymore. be careful! there are sooo many scamsters out there. dont let go of your goods untill money is in your account 0r they bring hard cash! also meet in a public place. i quite like the Police station for meeting buyers

Went there today for the first time just to check it out. Im in the market for a Dual suspension 29er, so i asked for quote on an Anthem X1, and they are by far the cheapest i have seen in JHB. Found the store very cluttered and disorganised, but was assisted within moments of walking through the door. Now should i steer clear or is it safe to buy from them?? edit:spelling

Fastest speed according to the Strava : 87,1km/h. Really enjoyed the race! Managed a 2:58:35 for my first 947. Hopefully next year ill be strong enough for 2 laps!
