  1. Just to be clear, I didn't file them, I filed the insides of the bar. The plastic does feel a bit flimsy but they held up well when I clipped a tree with the bars a week ago. Still look good as new. As for the grips, I'm using chunkies so no problem with ragged ends.
  2. I tried Windowlene and couldn't get them on at all. Then made the mistake of using Sunlight Liquid. Went one very very easily, but they start to slip when you ride for a bit. So I took them off, cleaned them properly and then plugged one end and filled the grips with surgical spirits. Then poured some spirits over the bar so it's nice and soaked and managed to get the grips on after that. Still struggled a bit, but now they don't move at all.
  3. Does the Epic have a carbon handlebar? Check if there isn't an aluminum insert at the end of the bar. That's issue I had with mine. Had to file the inserts down slightly to get it to fit.
  4. Got mine from Bicycle Company in Centurion and installed yesterday. Was a bit of a mission on the Cannondale bars with the aluminum inserts, so had to file those slightly. Probably saved another 2g right there https://www.dropbox.com/s/mqtvbjkn5qvlilw/2015-03-27%2006.48.42.jpg?dl=0
  5. Great video! Looks like you might as well leave your front wheel at home next time
  6. Are you sure? I've got the unedited footage of around 2 hours if you'd like to see more
  7. Any more details on the RIDE GO PRO competition? Not seeing anything on the JUMA page.
  8. Batch E Yes, I know most people had a completely different race than me. Definitely glad I rode some of the Nissan and USN races earlier in the year to help with the seeding.
  9. Some highlights (for me at least) of the race. Unfortunately the GoPro battery ran out before the floating bridge. http://youtu.be/gvOM-1aJXyU
  10. What an awesome race! I rarely stop at water points so the lack of additional spots was not a huge issue for me, but I can understand that it could cause problems for people who were expecting 3. Started the 52km in E batch and finished in around 3:11. Bottlenecks here and there but nothing major, and luckily no crashes, although I did see a few people go down really hard. The tunnel could have had more lights, but then again, how awesome is it knowing you managed to ride 700m blind Anyone know what happened to the guy that started in E batch on a road bike? Can't imagine he made it far, unless he was going for the longest day prize which he probably deserves if he manages to finish.
  11. Just got an sms with my race number and starting time. Starting at 06:20 for the 52km.
  12. I see some of the photos are up on http://www.jetlineactionphoto.com/. But R69 per photo download is bit steep.
  13. Will all the bags + stickers be delivered today? Is there a way to track your delivery?
  14. The results are up on SpectrumSport: http://spectrumsport.co.za/Portals/17/ResultDoc/USNcup_MTB_20140802.pdf Although I almost wish they weren't
  15. Any info on the route for the 30km?
  16. Just went to pickup mine. Double check your number when you do, mine was incorrect and they had to correct it for me there.
  17. In for the 30km. No SMS or email yet, but the info I got from velocourse was that the 30km would start at 08:40 with batches being 7 mins apart.
