  1. I've had a little business idea for a while now. Think a ICE band but with a scannable QR code. once scanned it takes you to all your emergency particulars. You can decide what to update and share. (lots of Qs here. PIP info stored, HIPA, POPI potentially GDPR.) The band ships with a App download to IOS\Driod. You can also expand the idea out to stickers with the same QR code and a emergency Signia. perhaps in Bold Red. stick it on your helmet, bike, or even print it on your shirt sleeve as a service. Out to the universe now but remember to buy me a new Sworks SL whatever when you make your first million...
  2. lol I always reply back to old James tuning him to catch a wake up
  3. My 2c. Stop advertising your 2016 Sworks Venge for 65k. Stop asking more then retail for imported Merlin Sram ASX shifters and stop crying over the poor fool making you a realistic offer on your bloated “USED” crap. i’m taking the piss big-time however my very crude honest opinion is, we over value second hand goods. Its created by this stupidly expensive industry in general. Over time i believe things will kinda get back to normal.
  4. Super nice shop with the best staff in Joburg. You have nothing to worry about. my “go to” bike shop
  5. my 2 Cs. The second hand market reflects the absolute bloat and greed of the cycling industry locally. Before i’d spend my hard earned bucks on a overpriced or overvalued bikes locally i’d rather import one from Merlin or import the parts and build my own. for 40k you can build a pretty decent setup. Merlin - 105DI2 (15k) perhaps source a frame on the hub and negotiate a proper price.. Even consider something like Winspace. All in all, you’d end up building something really cool, new and in budget. DM if you need any tips. https://www.merlincycles.com/wilier-garda-ultegra-road-bike-2023-266663.html
  6. Anyone know how I can get around the import block for SRAM?
  7. Tarmac SL6. Hands down the best bike ever.
  8. Hi Guys. I need a tension spring please! if there is any dead Sram Rival, Force or Red ASX derailleurs gathering dust, I'll gladly buy and be very very grateful
  9. Thanks bud. I eventually ended up buying a OSPW.
  10. It’s unfortunate just for MTB at the moment. I need the road equivalent
  11. Hi guys. I have a broken cage on my RD, does anyone have a dead 12 speed force or Rival ASX rear derailleur I can strip for the part from. Will pay in ZAR or Uber Eats of your choosing (PS; Cape Cycles doesn’t bother stocking the part apparently..I’m honestly so over this import monopoly)
  12. To be very honest I broke a SRAM charger to cannibalise a pin. Perhaps if you can find a technical specification of either the charger or the actual mec.
  13. hi bud. its ULTEGRA R8020. this is a Impossible find in SA it seems
  14. A massive thank you for the reply, but these are slightly different in design and unfortunately will not work
  15. Hi guys, does anyone have a broken left Ultegra or 105 hydraulic shifter they’re willing to part with. I need to cannibalise it for the bladder. Mine has a bad leak.
  16. Winspace has been good to me thus far from a performance POV. I bought a Hyper 47 pair for the road bike and a 38mm gravel pair for the second bike. Highly recommend you check them out. ceramic bearings, carbon bladed spokes - 25k mark A friendly word of advice, do not go hookless. Do your own research:)
  17. In the same vein hubbers should be realistic on the asking price. We expect really stupid prices for second hand goods. Let the attacks begin keyboard warriors
  18. I can’t agree more.
  19. I rate the guys at Cape Cycles Systems put a stop to the imports.
  20. This might be old knowledge but I recently tried to import some Sram components from Merlyn and was blocked form doing so.. worked around this by having a friend bring the parts across so big FU! all being said i saved around 50-60% on costs compared to the local shops.. Obviously the local distributor forced this change somehow what's weird is Merlin isn't on the official DI list.
  21. Yip bike shops locally take the piss big time.
  22. I recently bought some SRAM components off Merlin Cycles in the UK, literally less then half the price of our local shark.
  23. My experience with Dunkeld has been great. After being super fed up with my local Spez dealer and their no care attitudes, I decided to check Trek out. The guys at Dunkeld literally went out of their way to help. Highly recommend the shop
  24. It’s a scam. The only legit supplier I know of is the ladies at casquette rosebank.
