  1. But sometimes the richest are the stingiest That's how they became the richest
  2. Oh ma hat son, an ohlins on a pedal cycle....
  3. ask your lbs for a quote for replacement of the above, give that value to your insurance.
  4. That's pretty decent, I do apologise if it was too much tongue in cheek, to be honest I thought he was just complaining without trying so a big up to him
  5. Sounds cheaper to just drop a few kg- two bikes, for real??
  6. Yes but very seldom does it mean the original owners lifetime, its the lifetime of the product (still in production), and possibly other conditions...
  7. "Most consumers see lifetime warranty to mean one of three things: the owner's lifetime or the time he or she owns the product; the lifetime of the product itself; or the lifetime of the manufacturer." Lifetime regarding something like a bike usually means reasonable time (so a min if maybe 3 years) but if say maybe Giant stopped manufacturing the Anthem then that product is EOL and the warranty along with it (again, unless it's still within the minimum they might have). So just be careful what you believe lifetime warranty to mean, because I'm not sure Giant state what exactly it means.
  8. Not a good analogy at all. The Audi dealership is able to claim their expenses involved in solving a problem under warranty from Audi south Africa, or from the owner if not under warranty. With the bike carrier there is no profit after the initial sale. Ie. There's nothing in it for the shop you didn't support in the first place.
  9. Ordered a Camelbak yesterday evening, received it this afternoon! Wasn't expecting it before next week. Best price by far too!
  10. +-750 for a basic routine service. That's with the Sram agents in gauteng (for rockshox).
  11. It's R400 to R600 for a stans kit, plus R100 to R200 (expensive shop) for labour. If you need new tyres then R500 to R700 per new tyre. I've done a bit of pricing around last few weeks.
  12. I degrease and relube after each ride, rnr extreme works great, I'm sure most dry lubes will work in winter, and most wet lubes in summer. As for q20 and other non fit for purpose lubes, they seem to be worse off than a dry chain on dusty trails.
