  1. Not bad for a "dikwiel" , a dumb thing to do though.
  2. Depends on how much you are willing to pay. I have a standard Giant trainer. The important thing is that you train with a cadence or power meter. Without either of these 2 your indoor training wont be sufficient.Cadence rock!!!!!!!!!
  3. Have been riding trainer for the past 3 winters. Frame seems to be fine. I havent felt anything funny when back on the road or trying to hold on to the East Rand bunch on a Saturday morning.
  4. The Trek looks very nice however ,I am starting to wonder if I am missing something. Its now the 3rd bike on the Hub today that I saw that has got stripped bar tape. I must admit though , I havent been to a cycle shop in the past three weeks. Is "stripped" the new trend?
  5. In which direction do you guys cycle tintin?
  6. Big H , they say life begins @ 40 which is true. I started cycling at the age of 17.Today I am 43 and I cycle the best cycling ever. 15 years ago I wasnt able to do an average of 38/39 in a race. A lot has got to do with the mind. If you keep level headed you can go a long way. That sub 3 Argus is definitely reachable. Enjoy

    Conti's Gator all the way.........
  8. Daloco I dont train in a specific HR zone. My max HR is 178.As soon as I hit 160 especially @ 100 rpm's I slow down a bit. My average HR after a session is in the region of 146 -148 and as Windblown says your average HR comes down the fitter you become. All depends on the program you use and the setting on your trainer. I leave my setting on 4 which is comfortable for me. My last session is normally the one that pushes you HR up as you do 100+ rpm's
  9. All depends on how strong and fit you are. Have a 6-8 min warm-up , then start pedeling @85 -90 rpm's for 2 min - if it feels good go to 90 and stay there for 2 min. The success of cadence training is that you need to pedle at least @ 90rpm and keep it there for an x-period of time. My cadence training consits out of 14min@ 90rpm working through the gears / 14min @95 rpm and 14 min of a mixture 90 -110 rpm with a 2min rest between the sessions to bring your HR down. This works for me. You need to find what is working for you and stick to it. Good luck and enjoy
  10. Sad thing is some roadies dont even great fellow roadies. If you great them they either stare at you or just ignore you
