  1. Here is my strava ride from last year if anyone wants to check the route. http://www.strava.com/activities/2013-02-23-argus-ride-41915475?ref=1MT1yaWRlX3NoYXJlOzI9ZW1haWw7ND0xMzAzOTE2
  2. You can run low pressures. You dont have any tube anymore to snakebite. Try starting out at about 7 bars. If you were under 80kg you could probably run under 6 comfortably.
  3. Yup. It is open to anyone. If you can ride the distance then come along. We can meet you there somewhere on that side. Last year we met guys across from the Constantia shopping Centre. Wannabe can arrange the details with you.
  4. Imagine if it had to rain this weekend like it did for last years 99er..... That dirt section will become incredibly interesting then.
  5. I should be there I am giving the 99er a skip this year.
  6. Cool. Will drop you one now
  7. Nope. Just having fun. But maybe if you come...
  8. Hi Guys We need someone else to ride in the Oakvalley 24hour team event. The event is 4 riders, 10km, you will need lights. Runs from 12 (lunch time) will sunday 12 (lunch time). You can mix it up how you want to ride it is a team relay so as long as the person with the most doesnt have more than 2 extra laps than the person with the least laps. You will need lights. Website for more info : http://www.dirtopia.co.za/24-hours-of-oakvalley Anyone keen on riding with us? Please let me know ASAP.
  9. Anywhere in the surrounding areas is actually close enough. A nice ride to the start is great for a warm up. I will probably ride there from table view.
  10. I will join again for one or both of these.
  11. I ran tubeless in my road rims for about a year. The stans sometimes used to seal. Even at 8-9Bar. But the nicks from glass eventually open up and you just end up with your frame being covered in latex and grit. They do eventually seal at 4 bar or so. After pumping them up they will hold pressure again for a little while and then go through the process of covering your bike with grit again. I was using the Hutchinson atom tyres at the time. One of the problems is that these tyres are too soft. Glass destroys them. If they had to build a tubeless tyres with gatorskin strength then maybe you will get away with it. And btw I tried so so so many times to patch the cuts from the inside. Within a little while the ammonia eats away the glue of the patch and you just blow out again. Tried all different options even the special Hutchinson tubeless repair glue. Nothing helped. Road = too much pressure and the seal will never hold properly. There is one other thing that just might work. 25c tyres can run lower pressure due to their bigger size. If you are a light guy, you may be able to get away with running 5bars and then sealant should work for you. Will be a really comfortable ride without the risk of any kind of flats.
  12. Alone ?
  13. Sorry if it has been asked already,...... scanned through the pages but I cant see. Anyone know why Johann Rabie rolled in two minutes early? Did he manage to get away somewhere?
  14. Although..... With the kind of turnout we are getting now days I think guys could be keen to carry on for longer. Personally I wish there was more happening in december because I always hate that big gap over that period.
  15. Thanks Dennis
  16. Yep. Dont waste your time there. Rather be the slowest on a wednesday getting stronger than a strong boy on tuesdays wasting time there....

  20. You cycling up to fetch them as well?
  21. I am...... But I have only been cycling for the last three months again. My Strava records are going to be really punitive when I hit that 160km mark without any real distance in these legs....... Next year hopefully I will have the time to do it. Been a bit hectic the last two years. I loved my DC's I have ridden though so it is definitely on the cards for as soon as I can do it. Peter - are you riding with the outriders? Frail - who you with? City Cycles?
