  1. the mtb'ers in the club reckon that the distances per day are too long - only 2 days out of the 6 is under 100 kms. we have therefore still a few places open for non members. anyone interested?

  3. my original post stated that we will be camping, that is incorrect we will not be camping.
  4. Last year City members rode back from the Knysna Oyster Festival and really had a enjoyable time. This year we are going to ride back on gravel roads from Sedgefield. Sleep over at Barrydale Hotel Day 4 ? Sleep over in Montagu Day 5 ? Sleep over at Nekkies Day 6 ? Home Please note , we will NOT be camping in tents. The price of R2 800 includes your transport up to Sedgefield, all meals other than lunch on Saturday, your bike will be cleaned and lubed every day for you. 70% of the trip will be on gravel secondary roads.   5. We have applied for 32 in total have received most of them but still a few outstanding from beginning of January that may have got lost in the system.

  7. Charles rode our club TT over 25kms , started last and finished 1st.
  8. Thanks to Serendipity, we have the makings of a very enjoyable ride back to CT. So far we have mapped out a route from Sedgefield to George, Blanco, Groot Brak and Brandwag for day1 then to Riversdale via Herbertsdale on day 2. We have consulted with Roads 4 Africa, a 4x4 club and an "operator" for the rest of the way. We have been advised that it will be no walk in da park ie 645 kms in 6 days.

  11. for the past few years we have ridden back down to CT after the Knysna Oyster festival on tar, this year we want to try soemthing different and want to ride on gravel. can any hubbers help with routes from Sedgefield to Hartenbos via George, G Brak, K Brak , H'bos to R' Dale via Herbertsdale. R'dale to Barrydale via Brandrivier. i require route descriptions and approximate distances between stops ie Sedgefield to George - ?? kms , George - Groot Brak ?? kms. Remember i need to gravel roads.

  14. We have 6 places available in our accomodation in Swellendam. We are overnighting at the Swellendam High School hostel and will provide a bed (with full bedding), Friday night's meal and Saturday morning breakfast. We only need to vacate the premises until late on Saturday. Costs R250. if any hubbers still require accomodation for the DC, please pm me.
  15. Depart @ 7.00am from the Edgemead Sports Fields. Route : to Llandudno Hill and back. There will be a "short route group" that will turn at Camps Bay High and will return to Edgemead. please note - we obey traffic signals!!

Long route will be 100+ kms (? 3.30 ? 4hrs) and a mixture of flat and undulating terrain. We will ride through Parow, Bellville and Durbanville (silos) and return via <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Philadelphia and the Coastal Road, Melkbosstrand. short route will be between ?70 kms via the Silos and Fesantekraal Airfield. Please note: that the long and short route will ride together at an averqage of ?30 kph until the Klipheuwel Silos and then split and go their separate ways. There will be a Road Captain in charge of the short route and the Group will ride together. *** The Late Group meet at 0830am at the Sportsfields for a social ride of between 30 - 40 kms. This group will continue to meet at this time until 30 August. Sunday ? Meet at the BP Letchworth Drive , Edgemead @ 7.00am. the Route will be decided on the morning. Sunday ? Family Day @ Koeberg Nature Reserve @ 9.00am. Bring the family for a social ride around the reserve.
  17. kids dont have to train, they must play. if they win medals at the same time then thats a bonus. Sponsorship will come to them if they show promise.
