  5. yes, the wpca series consists of 3 standalone events being the TTT, 3days of PdV and Veldrif race. then we have 5 events at which riders score points which are totalled up at the end of the series.
  6. this is a great event to acclimatise the legs for the D'ville Veldrif 100 plus in July.

  10. the first event in the WPCA Winter Series is this Sunday. after a bit of sweating around the venue (it has changed twice in the last week) here are the details: WPCA Kermesse at Killarney - Sunday 8 June go to www.wpcycling.com - see events calendar Venue: Killarney Racing Track Circuit: 3,6 km Cost: R100 per person – R50 u/16 & younger Start time: 8h00 Registration from: 7h00, registration closes 20min before your race (see category start times below) Online Entries: Closes at 12h00 noon Friday 6 June 2014 Late Entries: R150 & R100 respectively Race Distances: 1 hour plus 1 lap all categories 45min plus 1 lap U/16 (Start time 8H00) 30min plus 1 lap U/12 & U/10 (Start time 8H00) Other information: An about2time timing chip must be purchased in order to be placed. This is the FIRST race of our winter series which consist of 5 races There will be full road closure A grace lap will apply if you require mechanical assistance. A leaders jersey will be awarded to category leader. At the next event. Prize money will be paid to our overall winners after the 5 events. Team Kinetic3 1:18:28 avg 38.23 full results to be posted soon: conditions were good. the stiff Northerly breeze kept all of us honest in the last 10kms. roads were wet but the rain stayed away for the duration of the event. thank you to all the clubs and teams who attended and to the organisers - awesome.

Cyclist to complete 3 laps and then return to start. Stage 2 Stage 1 Start & Finish at Paarl de Ville. proceed from P d V toward the 4 way stop , turn left towards Stellenbosch on the R304, proceed over the N1 and turn left at the R101 (Klein Joostenberg), proceed down to the traffic lights at Klapmuts and turn left onto the R44, cycle under the N1 and turn left at the R312 and proceed back to the start at Paarl de Ville. Cyclist to complete 2 laps Stage 3 Start & Finish at Paarl de Ville. proceed from P d V towards the R44, turn left on the R44, at the 2nd Paardeberg road turn left and climb the hill, turn left to cycle past the prison and then turn right toward the (R304) Malmsbury road. Turn left at the (R304) Malmsbury road and proceed past the windmill and turn left at the 4 way stop to cycle past the start. cyclists to complete 2 laps. Other info 1. An about2time timing chip must be purchased in order to be placed 2. No single day entries will be accepted 3. The white line rule applies 5. No merging of different categories will be allowed. 6. Backup vehicles will be allowed if your driver has a valid CSA mamagers/drivers licence 7. Prize giving & jersey presentation will be 15 minutes after the last category finishes. 8. The winner of the event will have the fastest time over the 3 stages.   16. it won't cost u anything to call the city council and try (i'll repeat TRY) and find the correct dept to claim damages to your bike etc it that fails call your local councillor or claim from your own insurance.
  17. we are promoting category racing as opposed to age racing ie if you are a PPA seeded A 46 year old you should be riding against a similar standard of rider be they 20 years old or 60 years old (for eg Peter .......a 64 years old rides cat 1 in the winter series) conversely if you are a PPA seeded M 20 year old but would like to race the same applies. this categorising of riders will take a season or two to sort itself out but i am of the opinion that this is the way to go. the PPA seeded categories have proved this. i am in the process of expanding on the categories for all the events in the winter series but sometimes work gets in the way.
