1.
Strange not being asked about sizes when entering??

Hopefully I get a shirt that fits...

2. That is why i am going to the Merida carbon big nine 3000D
3. You must take into account that dual suspension alloy frames are heavy. For example a Merida 96 alloy frame with carbon rear stays weighs 3kg! That is heavy for a dual suspension frame. I would say if weight is taken into concsideration i would've bought a carbon dual suspension. But personally carbon hard tail 29ers are the thing for me. You must know if you are going to use the travel on a dual suspension fully to actually buy one.
4. You would be able to get prices of any model at all the Silverback dealers
5. I think i'm going to go for the Merida Carbon Big Nine 3000D. Just need to negotiate the price between shops!! And spaar 'n bit
6. The Merida 1200D looks like the best value bike for not too much. With some extra bucks I can upgrade the bike here and there. My main concern on the bike is the fork and wheels... The wheels on the Merida Big Nine 3000D looks very nice. If i can realy get the price down on the 3000D I would go for it.
7. Great advice. Yes value wise the 1200D is calling me
8. The Merida 3000D and 1200D doesn't differ much on performance but what is better XT or X9?
9. HI Guys/ Girls I am doing my homework on 29er bikes and will be buying soon but give me some advice on the 29er bike range. For about 24K I assume you should be able to get a reasonable good racing bike. I have looked at the 2012 Silverback Storm 1.0 Price:R23000 Merida Big Nine Carbon 3000D R26000 which is a bit over my budget Merida Big Nine Carbon 1200D Price: R21500 http://www.kayalamicycles.co.za/2012/bikes/merida/Big.Nine%20Carbon%201200-D.jpg Whar other carbon 29er bikes are there that I can have a look at in the 24K price range? I would prefer Full XT with a good fork or X9
10. It depends on your type of lever. I have the m210 on my Merida 96 and it locks out full.
11. Another Possible Sindicate is Wayne: 0718467415
12. Hi Bikers Please watch out for this guy. He is interested in high end bikes as a "possible" buyer. He called me and didn't know anything about bikes, componentry or races. He hang up. The number is: 0827366783 Please be careful when selling youre pride and joy. Regards
13. I started using PVM's Octane. I should start getting fit maybe for these to kick in...
14. What product do you use and does it work? Please supply the full name and your intented use (training or racing) Leave your reviews so that we can run through the market of top cycling nutrition. What works? Money wasted? Etc.
15. How save is Northern Farms nowadays?
16. Were attacked by two young 20 year old black guys one of them were armed approximately 7H00 in the morning, Sunday 31 Oktober in the Minandi area. R114 heading towards Krugersdorp near the Knoppieshoogte area directly opposite the sand quarry. Vincinity of Gerhardsville smallholdings Exact coordinates are: 25°53’24”S 28°02’44”E
17. Where did it happen? Time? Place? How did it happen? Any people seen?
18. I also had the same situation. I have a previous shimano XT series rear derailer. I did a close inspection on the derailer and the hanger which hold the derailer on the frame. What i found is that the hanger itself was loose. So i tried fastening the ellen bolts but saw that the one ellen bolt was stripped. I called a few shops and bought me a new rear derailer hanger. From then onwards I had no problems. It is very important not to adjust your gears frequently. Make sure you have the knowledge to adjust it correctly! Maybe some time you have to let a technician set your gears for you. Hope you get a sollution for your issue!
19. We want ultimate performance and with such a unit on the bike or on your wrist you will only want to go out and ride and experiment with this excellent equipment! I'm planning on buying myself the Polar RS800CX Pro Team Edition. It is alot of money but worth it!! Where are the cheapest dealerships/ shops to buy a Polar Heartrate Monitor or specific the RS800CX PTE? On the Polar website it retails for about $449.95. What is the best method to buy? Either Import from USA etc or buy Locally?
20. Well R4700 for a heart rate monitor is alot of money. But one must ask yourself what you want in a heart rate monitor and how competetive are you. The Polar RS800 is top range when it comes to competetiveness and useful information. I know there is a wide range of monitors on the market. If you own a Polar RS800, then tell us what you like about it and what is not so nice. One thing i can tell about the RS800 CX Bike is that you get all the speed sensors for your bike. It has an optional Gps which you only need to buy the receiver unit. With some of the RS800 models you get a Foot pod for running speed etc. I see the Polar RS800 as a good multifunctional heartrate monitor for the more competetive athlete. Every heartrate monitor has its features in its own range.
21. I am thinking on buying myself the Polar RS 800 Bike CX. I do mountain biking and running. l What are your comments om the RS 800?
22. W.I.N.D- Wireless Integrated Networking Device Technology- for seamless high volume data communication between sensors and running computer. Together with the Polar CS600, the Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. measures the actual, average and maximum power values. With the Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. you can analyze the L/R balance (balance between left and right foot) and Pedaling Index (shows how evenly the power is distributed during one crankarm rotation). The Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. also measures cycling speed, distance and cadence. You can easily download the data to the Polar ProTrainer 5 professional training software for further analysis. All of the drive force of the bike is transmitted entirely through the chain, allowing the Polar Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. to calculate watts accurately. The sensor positioned on the rear pulley works magnetically and measures the speed of the chain. The chain stay sensor (power sensor) calculates the tension of the chain by measuring the vibration as the chain passes over the sensor. The Polar Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. also has a built-in cadence sensor. The information is then transmitted to the Polar CS600 cycling computer, which is mounted to a bike mount on the handlebars. Polar Power Output Sensor W.I.N.D. is easy to install. It is suitable only for road bikes, ridden on tarmac. It is not suitable for mountain bikes or bikes with very complex back forks. How does Power Output help cycling? With regard to training it can give much more precision than heart rate and perceived exertion. Power meters also have a number of other uses, including working on bike position and determining efficiency at different cadences.
23. How can I use a compressor to pump up my tubeless tires when using the thin valve? Some people say a floor pump will work but i'm struggling. I have Specialized Fast Trak wire bead tires. Do you use a special attachment gun for the compressor, because I don't want to use a co2 canister every time?
24. Unfortunately i can't make it this sunday. Hear by the others about the following week's saterday maybe to Northen farms. We will then arrange a date so that most can attend.
