  1. Sounds awesome... also beer allocation for first e-bike home??
  2. Same guy tried to scam me today as well. Oil rig worker, such an old story.
  3. Stolen: Cannondale Bad Habit 2017 When: 24 May 2018 Where: Cape Town, Western Cape Either the front gates to my property didn't close properly when I left home, or they were forced open. The bike was stolen from the garage. Get further details about the incident in the Stolen Bikes section
  4. Looks like 26.25% duty http://www.sars.gov.za/AllDocs/LegalDoclib/SCEA1964/LAPD-LPrim-Tariff-2012-04%20-%20Schedule%20No%201%20Part%201%20Chapters%201%20to%2099.pdf Page 618. Then add 14% VAT on top the price, including the shipping. Base price looks pretty good, but add in other costs and it looks less inviting. Better to fly over to Europe and pick one up, get it a bit muddy and bring it home.
  5. My rear light fell off on Wednesday evening (10th Jan), I think near the top of the Quaggas as we started descending from Rhodes Mem towards town. If anyone finds it please let me know. Thanks, Tim.
  6. Awesome job guys - I'm really going to miss this series!
  7. Stolen: Giant Anyroad 2015 When: 19 January 2017 Where: Cape Town, Western Cape My friend was knocked off his bike by a coloured guy with a pole in the subway under the Belmont Rd / Liesbeeck Parkway intersection earlier today. He tried to fight the assailant for his bike, but his collarbone was broken in the fall. The assailant also threatened to kill him, so he got away. Attached pics of the bike model, also the actual bike, and also of the assailant escaping with the bike (wearing red shirt and shorts). 8. I had trouble buying some goods on CWC on Black Friday - the website didn't work, my cart kept emptying, etc. Anyone who has lived overseas knows that this is what happens on Black Friday - it's part of the "fun". But eventually after a few attempts, I managed to place my order. Chris phoned me only the following Friday apologising for the slow processing of the order. I honestly had no issue with waiting a week - again that's what Black Friday is about - it's about a good deal, not about silver service, right here, right now. He may regret saying go and shop elsewhere, but sometimes I agree with this stance. Retailers don't have to serve everyone. A sale is a contract between two parties - if one of them isn't enjoying the process, he can suggest that the customer moves on somewhere else. There's nothing wrong with that.
  9. Here's my nomination, something downhill, and a little longer. https://www.strava.com/segments/10048599
