  1. It is pretty rocky, but an experience to ride. I don't think it will ever be an easy ride to do, but the views more than make up for it. We enterered at Theresa Avenue and exited at the battery, the gate is open now, it seems permanently.
  2. Went for a burn around the mountain on the missing link trail.
  3. Which every way you go, also keep an eye out for some hydraulic disc brakes to put on if it does not come with them, it can help reduce weight as well. We have a set from one of my bike upgrades that has been moved three times now, just moved onto my daughters Momsen JSL40, makes a massive difference to their confidence having brakes they can trust and use with ease.
  4. Well done. That’s a monster effort. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw you upload that on strava.
  5. Did the silvermine loop for freedom day, the early start meant we caught the sunrise from above the dam. Magic morning out there.
  6. Hi, Newlands forest is definitely open, got direct confirmation from SANparks: “The Newlands forest section of the mountain bike track is open for visitors. The area closed is clearly marked and still remains closed from the fringes of Newlands forest towards GSE and Tafelberg Rd, Deer Park area. Please visit our facebook page for updates.”
  7. Muratie wine farm for a little bit of single track bliss
  8. It’s called “the missing link” on strava... or join Table mountain bikers
  9. Finally got to ride this today, thank you Table Mountain Bikers!!
  10. Lyne dropper has served me very well for a year years now.
  11. The way his arm broke so easily reminds me of the very unfortunate situation Mfuneko Ngam faced with stress fractures in his legs when he started his international cricket career.
  12. Happened to my Momsen as well. Bike manufacturers blame the LBS, LBS blames the manufacturing of it.
  13. I went and raided the LBS for 4 sets of brake pads and I got a set of rotors for just incase.. I think it is going to be a mud bath out there tomorrow. Good luck to everyone
  14. I think you have hit the nail on the head, I have never done one, but know enough to know that doing an epic is not going to be cheap and easy.
  15. Agreed, the other way they used to test is by trying to buy music on iTunes, they normally try a low value amount to see if the details are valid and then go all in after that.
  16. Couldn't agree more.. Sadly my LBS felt that it was better to try and save themselves the R 1500 charged for the repairs and blamed me for lack of maintenance of my bike. I should have fought it more, at the time I had larger issues i was dealing with, but I figured lesson learnt, they will not be getting my business in future.
  17. It was windy on our way up as well, we went in at 8. Vasbyt was interesting.

  19. Had the same problem with my bike recently, just over a year old, took it back to the LBS that built it, they claimed it’s a maintenance issue... They sent it in for carbon repair and then charged me for the longer cables to stop it from doing more damage... not sure I will be going back in a hurry... ????????‍♂️
  20. No footage of the crash that i have seen, only after the fact when he is picking his bike up and getting back on.
  21. Garmin to strava is automatic, not sure about the link from strava to cyclemeter, but if that is also automatic then it’s a no brainer and saves you from submitting it three times.
  22. We took advantage of a windless morning to hit the Blockhouse and then come down the single track..
  23. I have it as well.. Not a real concern for me, i move around so much on my saddle, and adjust the seat height all the time as I ride, so the small around of play doesn't concern me.
