  2. Does anyone know what the import duty would be on a front fork
  3. I want a new lighter front fork so I posted a question to find out whether a shock with differnt travel will change my geometry. The answer is yes, therefore I will look to buy a shock with the same travel spec's on my current bike, which is 120mm. Now I know that when I do buy a new one it will be right for the bike and not have any adverse effects
  4. I need a new shock. I would to get ssomething lighter. I'm going to check on my bike specs as to what range of shock it can take. I didn't want to just go buy a shock and then itss not the right shock for the bike. Thanks for the help chaps
  5. Yes I meant front fork. Sorry I checked my fork, it actually has 120mm of travel. So basically what you saying is that if I put a shock on with 80mm of travel, its shorter, and therefore my bike will tilt further forward on the front end than before. So its basically an angle change.
  6. Hi Guys, I have 2 questions: My frame was designed for a 110mm travel shock. Does that mean if I get a 80mm travel shock it will unbalance the bike? Is a shock with less travel shorter or does it mearly have less travel? Thanks, Andrew
  7. Morning pal, I ride to work as well. Edenvale to sandton, if you keen
  8. I've done my homework. See links below: What i am trying to find out is it worth paying extra for the air shock when the coil shock is lighter or the same weight? Recon: (see coil option weight, there is an air option for this shock, but I will be looking at the coil. As you can see the air option is heavier) http://www.sram.com/rockshox/products/recon-silver-tk The tora shock I have an option on is air and recon is coil. Hence my question which is better?
  9. Anyone keen to hit a ride between 6:30 and 8:30 during the week. I'm situated in the linksfield/edenvale area. Cheers, Andrew
  10. I can ride 6:30 - 8:30 am if you keen?
  11. Which shock is better? The recon is a coil and the tora is an air shock. The tora is slightly heavier by 200-300grams Cheers, Andrew
  12. i dont know why we have to deal with this on a daily basis. I wish the police would do there jobs.
  13. marcarbi racing shells have done 2 carbon repairs for me on my bike as well as my boat.
  14. thanks for the offer, i will definately take it up. I have just stripped the seat clamp for the second time. i am so over this planet x frame. I'm in thailand and just did finished the laguna phuket triathlon. I will only be back in sa on the 14th. I have another clamp, which i stuck a bolt through. I have put to retangular peices of coke tin on the sides of the seat post so it grips better with the alloy of the frame. hopefully it works. Can i come see you when I get back?
  15. its an aero seatpost, so the frame has slits on the two sides as well as on the rear of the post. water can easily get in there. I had to leave my bike in transition over night, and it rained the whole night and during the day. Can you guys recommend any carbon paste etc or should i just wrap the post with some coke tin. the seatpost is carbon and so is the bike, but the inside of where the seatpost fits has an alloy layer. I dont want to strip the seat clamp as I have already and had to buy a new one.
  16. how often must this tacx stuff be applied. I did a race this weekend in the rain, and it seemed to wash all the grease away and the seat post slipped. I will reapply some more carbon grease but ideally i would not like to have to reapply everytime it rains. Any other suggestions?
  17. howzit, I put some carbon grease on my seatpost for a race this weekend. I road the bike twice and the seat didnt slip. In the race it slipped but I think its because it rained and washed all the grease away. How often must carbon grease be applied and is it normal for the carbon grease to wash away so easily. Cheers, Andrew
