SA under 23 squad selected for Europe - Own Correspondent<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> << Back <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Tuesday, March 27, 2007 A South African under 23 squad has been selected to ride in five of the most prestigious events in Europe, collectively known as the World Cup des Nations. Riders? performances in these events will determine the number of riders their respective countries qualify for the World Championships but, more importantly, it affords the youngsters an opportunity like never before to get noticed in Europe and go onto greater things as part of established European professional outfits. The team consists of Hanco Kachelhoffer, Johan Rabie, Pieter Seyffert, Christoff van Heerden, Jay Thomson and Shaun Davel. The two reserves are Juan van Heerden and Nolan Hoffmann. They will race in the Tour de La Cote Picardi (18/4), Liege-Bastagna-Liege (21/4), the Giro Della Regioni (26/4 - 1/5), the Thuringen Rundfaht (12/6-17/6), the GP Tell (22/8-26/8) and the Tour de L?Avenir (6/9-15/9). The team will be based in Belgiumon> under the leadership of John Robertson and his Konica Minolta back-up team.
  2. Rob has super form! If anyone saw him race on Sunday they would know! Also Cox rides like a motorbike! Think Robbies Paris-Roubix experience will help him ride dust into most mounties eyes! Dont forget junior mtb stars Jaco Venter and J-L Augustyn! All around it should be a fast and very interesting race!

  4. Well soek jy n spesifieke oefening om gewoont te raak an laps? wel, doen dan jou oef op n lap as jy dink dit gaan help, jy gaan 6 ure ry, of jy dit op n reguit pad of op laps gaan doen, dit bly 6 ure!smileys/smiley36.gif
  5. Sou se, kyk hoeveel tyd jy het to die race, dan beplan jy van daar. Jy behoort te begin met n tipe base, rides van so tussen 3-5 ure @ 60-70%, jy kan ook n paar intervalle van verkieslik tussen 5-10min @85% doen. Dan sal jy vir n paar dae dit bietjie rustig vat, steeds oefen, net minder, +- 4-5dae. Dan kan jy weer 2-4 uur rides doen met korter tipe intervalle, en n week voor die groot dag begin af typer, maar steeds aktief bly. Moenie vas kyk in die 6 ure. Maar konsentreer eerder in die voorbereiding! Delmas pad is n goeie pad om op te oefen, behalwe vir die verkeer! Goodluck
