  1. Thanks! Felt great on the day. Will also be in the mountains trying to keep up with my missus.
  2. You rode a great race! Well worth that wimpy breakfast. You riding Saturday?
  3. My best race so far, bettered last years time by 20 minutes dispite the wind. Great food, better hospitality and organization that all others can learn from. Already booked my lodging for next year! Way to go Kremetart!
  4. Of course, it's for your bottle refill mix, sun cream etc. and to put your jacket in after stage one. See you all there tomorrow!
  5. My carbon bike is much less harsh than super stiff Alu frames. Another factor is trying to get a high end Alu frame these days except for the CAAD. And if you think a 1 kg difference isn't significant than you really don't go uphill much.
  6. Last year they managed close to total road closure. I came across one car that had slipped in somewhere.
  7. We don't shoot down eveyone's opinions - just yours. Haven't you got a supplement to drink?
  8. Yeah but its the one bike I regret selling.
  9. You hit the nail on its head. Nothing that annoys me more than the ignorance behind that term.
  10. I'll be there, bleeding from my eyeballs like last year. It's as much fun as you can have on the road
  11. He certainly is very something...
  12. Wearing a TT helmet on a MTB is so silly it's almost cool.
  13. Are you lot actually replying to this? ...oops.
  14. He he good to see gravity boys can take as good as they give.
  15. hmmm... that has lifts in it, REAL MTB hasn't got lifts...
  16. How are they supposed to feel special if they can't use terms like dirt roadie? It's only slow, lazy folk who look at the Richtersveld and don't see the potential. I mean, how the hell are they supposed to go forward on flat ground?
  17. He he, I go there for skiing, it's an epicenter for that.
  18. Didn't take it as an attack, was just giving my point of view SA may not be the epicentre of MTB or anything else but its pretty dam good. We have freedom and a generally tolerant view towards land access, at least here where I live. We have a huge variety of events (okay, mostly marathon and stage racing but that's what most seem to enjoy) and incredible variety of terrain. Take part in the Sabie Classic, Magalies monster and Trans Baviaans and you will find 3 completely different worlds of riding. Try Freedom challenge, Epic, Crater Cruise, Tour de Tuli.... Hold on, maybe Mr. Clean is on to something. He never said we have the best trails for downhill (even though we got a world champ), the best XC course (ours isn't bad) bout we do seem to have a lot of everything. I have family in Europe and spend some time there and things are very different to internet clips with access issues, weather issues and a lot of red tape for just about anything. Very few staged events for the general public and they are expensive! Canada in summer? Must be good! USA? never tried. But come on, do something here (MTN series, Wild Ride, anything) instead of saying we are over rated!
