  1. No way argus is on average 25 minutes slower. Even for the winners. But 94 has more climbing than you think.
  2. If you think bunch riding is too easy ride with a faster bunch. Simple really. Our club had times from 2:08 to 2:59 coming in under three hours and all suffered. Once you are riding faster groups sub three isn't as portant as how fast you go.
  3. 94 had over 1100 m ascent.
  4. I had 54 secs to spare, recon we both could have rested more on the hills...
  5. no worries there, she can look after herself well enough!
  6. She never mentioned a hand on her butt…
  7. Sport physio charity shirt, red spez helmet on a white and green CAAD 10. Thanks for the help
  8. She sat your wheel for a while. I started with you guys in D but missed the first split and finished a few minutes behind.
  9. You and Carpet finished 1 minute ahead of my missus. What kit were you wearing Wyatt?
  10. One minute behind you Cav. I blew on the N 14 and only just squeaked my sub three.
  11. Kindle app on iPhone does the trick.
  12. And the missus and I. Will be on Carpets wheel till we blow.
  13. Just bought one for my wife, 2014 105 model comes in at 21 k. Problem is most won't get their head around that money for an Alu bike even if the frame is lighter and stiffer. Upgrade the wheels and you have a great race bike.
  14. Fargin ugly colours on an otherwise beautiful bike!
  15. Lampre maybe?
  16. That's me buffoon. Sorry for the lack of clarity. The "simply because" part was meant to imply the comment related to cheaper forks but I see now that's not how it read. My bad.
  17. No, I never said non lockout forks are worth nothing. I said non lockout forks on cheap bikes tend to be bottom of the range and worth nothing. As is the case here. You can't compare a non lockout Van R to a suntour of that price. And I also said his Van R is a crappy fork for road riding no matter the cost. It is. It's also not my first choice for marathon riding but probably great for trails and Enduro. Horses for courses. Ride what you want.
  18. Your Van R costs as much as the entire bike he is contemplating. Your Enduro fork may be all kinds of awesome but isn't that great for road riding and is in a different league to the Suntour forks he is looking at. But you are right between the two on those models there is little difference and he won't feel much benefit from the lockout when punishing Sabie or Barberton climbs.
  19. A fork that can't lock is not worth having. Simply because even el cheapo coil forks can lock out. Get the more expensive fork. Like wheels a good fork and shock are worth every penny.
  20. Results can be viewed here: http://slc.co.za/wp/?page_id=2046 Next year the school is considering turning the event into a 3 day event with a prologue on the Friday, marathon Saturday and time trial on the Sunday. You will still be able to enter the Marathon as a standalone event. Should be fun!
  21. Now you have to come up in May for the challenge as well.
  22. Hey Nick, he injured his kidney falling off a quad bike so no mountain biking for 3 months. A hard lesson to learn, seeing that flash sitting unused in his bedroom!
  23. Give Dot a call, she will hook you up and we will see you on the road! Seriously though, much safer on the MTB here and we have a lot of mountain to explore.
  24. See you next year BarHugger!
  25. Timing was done by hand by the school so... I'll let you all know when the publish something!
