    Juicy 3?

My wife has Juicy 3 on her Trek EX 8 and they are great. I ride XT brakes but she is very happy with hers and (I am the one maintaining her bike) they have lasted and been as easy to set up as my Shimano gear.
  2. The only tits I see during rugby are on the couch next to me and they certainly aren't sour Go Bulls! Bad luck sharks, but you played *** enough to deserve to lose that one. As for the Cheetahs, if they make a final look sharp. They can beat anybody. I just hope my blue boys take them seriously on game day.

    Garmin Edge

I bought the Edge 305 and so far I love it. It has all the 705 functions you need and none that you don't (for MTB anyway where the street maps don't help much!) It tracks your rides, lets you race a virtual partner, the map function actually works well for anyone who knows how to use a GPS (and not just a street map finding Nuvi), and best of all it has a great and very customizable display. My wife's 305 flew off her bike after I failed to clip it on properly, skidded across some rocks and ended in a mud bath. Still works perfectly.
  4. Just bought the wife and I Garmin Edge 305s despite the "they suck" thread. So far I am impressed. They work great, don't cost too much (3K), and the GPS function actually got us back on course on Sunday in the mountains. I like the way data fields can be customized and that you can view up to eight at a time. Makes the unit very rider friendly. Just hope I have one of the ones that have had the battery issues sorted.
  5. Thanks for the clarity on that. Well, I am glad our tax dollars aren't going to Mud Island anymore! The problem is that nothing is going on there. I drive past every day and the tea is just getting wilder. It would be great if these initiatives could get underway and actually benefit some of the grass root members of our area but I am afraid a lot of the projects here have gone up in smoke. Good intentions are what paves the road to hell and there is a LOT of good intent here. Anyway, are you coming up to ride? It's going to be a great day in the mountain.
  6. The tea plantations are finished Slowbee. At the moment they are growing wild. The story I heard is that tea is not commercially viable in SA and a foreigner was reaping the benefits of the government subsidy on the plantations anyway. So it was bound to fall apart eventually. Aesthetically it is very sad but the biggest losers here are the thousands of workers who lost their jobs. This has had a disastrous impact on them, their families and our whole community. Oh well, things move on.
  7. I rode the 40 km route of the Magoebaskloof Classic yesterday, in the mist, in the rain, and all I can say is: what an amazing ride! I woke up this morning, sore legs and all, still thinking about it. I don't know, maybe I am biased (I live about 15 km away), but the terrain and scenery has to be experienced to be believed. I can't believe I have never taken part in this race before but that is definitely going to change come November 7. Hope to see many of you there.
  8. Well done Willem! That's an awesome prize. I would lock it up in the glass cabinet for sure.
  9. Dude, DO you TAlk LIKE YOu tyPE?
  10. I have the XT brakes and I have had no problems whatsoever - which is good because I hate fiddling. They don't rub, they don't lock up. I don't know if pressing the lever with the wheel out will cause problems because... i don't do it. My LBS changed my brake pads recently and that's about it. I don't think about my brakes, they just stop me when I need it. TZmtb2009-10-08 00:38:56
  11. Dude, there is nothing funnier than watching a fanboy.
  12. Oh look' date=' a pragmatist Or maybe just stop mucking about and buy a Morewood. If you break that you're a special case.[/quote'] I would love to, just don't have 18 k lying around for a Morewood race frame Dang, gotta start saving.
  13. No, it wont fit. The design is different.
  14. I have an iDrive on my alu marathon and did manage to break the flex plate thingy but it happened after I started jumping the bike. For big jumps go buy the Force. It is also iDrive but has a big, strong, heavy steel thingy instead. The marathon is a low travel suspension bike designed for marathon's not bombing downhill over big drop offs.
  15. Sorry for the ignorance but is the inbred a steel or alu bike? How much does the frame weigh?
  16. Hi TZmtb' date=' I'll be putting the Inbreds on the website latter today, now that we have finally got a delivery date, unfortunately it will be the end of next month before we will have them - sorry for the massive, massive delay! There will 456 Inbred 26ers, Summer Season 456 26ers, Inbred 29ers, BRG 18" 29er Scandals, 18" 26er black annodised Scandals, 29er Rigid Carbon Forks, Planet X Saddles in black and white, On One Big Nose saddles and On One Inbred Man saddles and more. Best news I've had all week: LCL shipment successfully booked. Vessel : Uni-Accord voy. 0878-279S Etd : 05-Oct-2009 Eta : 31-Oct-2009 [/quote'] Thanks Kiwi, I am in no big rush, doing research for a christmas present for myself I am partial to the looks of the scandal so now it is just a question of 26 or 29.
  17. I don't see an Inbred on the Planet-x website. I am looking for a lightish bike for riding half marathons and marathons. I don't do much jumping. I have a full suss GT marathon and am looking for a hard tail to go with it. Where can I see pricing etc. for these bikes?
  18. Thanks MD, haven't seen that model yet...
  19. Hey Mampara, I may be way off here but somewhere while reading your threads I saw that you ride an On-One. Do you? If so, which one and how do you rate it? I have been looking at these on the net but have problems with the low sticker price of the frames. Can they be that good at that price? I am interested in the alu scandal. Does anyone have any experience with this bike? Can I put my XT groupset and Fox 32 120 shock on it without hassles? Thanks, Ray
  20. could be' date=' on his profile pic on FACEBOOK he is nexto a lion[/quote'] well, it could have been worse. He could have been next to an Aussie or a province player.
  21. And how strong is that frame?? built for extra hard riding If you manage to break a GT Avalanche frame you are doing something truly extraordinary. Those things are bullet proof alu. Nothing like the carbon...
