  1. TSS: 558 IF: 0.72 7 sessions including a VERY short and VERY chilled MTB coffee ride yesterday.
  2. TSS - 689 IF - 0.75 6 rides (5 IDT sessions and 1 Club coffee ride)
  3. Entered and paid. In for the Ride, Team-1
  4. Was in first main bunch of AL (excluding the few who got away as usual up Hill Snacks) until my mate punctured his tubbie on the way up to Maropeng. As this was more of a training ride for me, I turned around and went back to help him. Rejoined the 3rd AL bunch which had been caught by the few front runners from BL and ended finishing in 3:11. With the ride to the start and back home got in some good solid TITS for L'etape.....
  5. AL but going to use this as a long training ride for L'etape by riding to and back from the race
  6. Nada. Guess we'll find out our seeding when we collect the numbers.
  7. Put the IF score in there to see who was paying attention lol....
  8. Yip, FTP test planned for later this week. Haven't done one in a while...... Did get notified of new threshold value after race and hoping to see a nice jump.
  9. Started A bunch and lost the front of the group before I even got a chance to cross the start line Due to some of the challenges with the start loading as have been discussed. I've got a bit more of a "diesel engine" so don't really do that well trying to close gaps from middle of the bunch from the get go. Seemed like there were already 3 groups by the time we hit Summit. Official Time: 2:42:14 (Target was sub 2:40, 2015: 2:52:55, 2014: 3:29:13) Max speed: 83.4 Avg HR: 142 Max HR: 163 (54 yrs) Avg power: 244 (3.18) Max power: 1245 (16.23) NP: 303 (3.95) 20 minute power: 292 (3.81) TSS : 326.9 IF: 1.1 Avg cadence: 86 Race day weight: 76.7
  10. As you mention they are both flat and fast and similar routes and profiles etc. Will largely depend on the weather/wind on the day. As an example I did Emperors in 2:20 and Carnival in 2:30 both in VC this year but the last bit was into quite a strong headwind at Carnival if memory serves me

    The I-Team

Thanks, I used your calculator to set a 2:55:00 target, but only memorized a few of the key points like M1, Wilds, Witkoppen etc and was also initially behind, then went ahead and managed to hold on to most of the gains and it would seem pretty darn realistic. Thanks again. Some more data points for you if they help with your model. I also started in D and started my Garmin with the gun.3.8 km 0:10:26 9.7 km 0:21:10 13.2 km 0:25:55 19.4 km 0:34:54 24.2 km 0:45:12 36.9 km 1:07:10 39.2 km 1:15:21 47.3 km 1:28:31 52 km 1:35:41 56.7 km 1:43:01 60.4 km 1:48:22 69.9 km 2:03:37 (got passed by your GW train, should have hooked on) 74.8 km 2:14:27 80.1 km 2:25:35 83.4 km 2:30:06 87.2 km 2:37:25 91.2 km 2:47:07 Finish 2:52:50 (93.4 km, official time 2:52:55) For the 947 20km to go Strava segment I rode 0:40:04 (up from 48:59 last year where I rode a 3:29)
