Used the Edge 500 for a long time before i upgraded to the Edge 800. No problems at all. Usually a firmware update will fix any issues you are having should it not find satellites. Garmin HRM - Got some great service for EasyGIS when i purchased my Edge 705 & Edge 500. - To date no problems and i like the mapping function on the Edge 705, i do use that quite extensively. - However if you are not interested in the mapping, i use my Edge 500 for races and some running.
