  1. Speedster Scott Get it local.... By the Time you add the Vat and that little bit extra that SARS charges it works out cheaper over this side. Chain Reaction Edge 510 - 206.49 x 1.154 (Vat) = 238.29 @ R16.12 = R3841.23 Edge 510 - 247.49 x 1.154 (Vat) = 285.60 @ R16.12 = R4603.87 EasyGIS/EasyBike Edge 510 = R3299 Edge 510 = R4149 http://www.easybike.co.za/fitness-gps/bike-computers.html http://www.easygis.c...nto-sports.html Try_Hard
  2. Used the Edge 500 for a long time before i upgraded to the Edge 800. No problems at all. Usually a firmware update will fix any issues you are having should it not find satellites. Got mine from EasyGIS http://www.easygis.co.za/gps/garmin/into-sports.html Or EasyBike http://www.easybike.co.za/fitness-gps/bike-computers.html Great service from them and usually the cheapest price around.
  3. EasyBike has a New Post with Workstands for those of you who are still interested. - https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/125853-easybike-workstands-pre-order/ Just ordered the Feedback Ultralight - Cant wait........
  4. Try these guys. http://www.easybike.co.za/ They seem to stock them all.
  5. Try www.easybike.co.za They have Rocket Ron, Racing Ralph's and Nobby Nic's. http://www.easybike....s/mtb-27-5.html
  6. Local Warranty. They dont import the stuff. Checked with Garmin South Africa before i purchased my Edge 705, Edge 800, Edge 500. Great service and the best prices around, recevied all my orders on time as promised. They have a sister company www.easybike.co.za that i also order alot of my spares from they also sell GPS's.
  7. Shop Name - EasyBike Website Link - http://www.easybike.co.za Contact Person - Contact Telephone Number - 031 8113279 Contact Email: sales@easybike.co.za Address - Specialist Services -
  8. +2 Got my Edge 800 and Edge 500 locally from them and it arrived the next morning early and was probably the same proce if not cheaper after the Vat, handling fee and "exchange rate differnece" that SARS charges.
  9. Where to buy I got my Edge 705 form EasyGIS (Edge 705 has now been discontinued) http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=126_7 I got my Edge 800 from EasyBike http://www.easybike.co.za/fitness-gps/bike-computers.html
  10. I have a Garmin Edge 800 and had it for a while now. Ive also had the Edge 705 and have really enjoyed using them.
  11. What Shifters are you looking for? A set?
  12. +1 EasyBike (Ordered a few times) the website is very user friendly and easy to order from + speedy delivery.
  13. I use Standard Bank. They have phoned me before, but i think its a random check and they dont check all transactions?
  14. Hi Swift 01 I have a mate that is looking to switch. Please let me know and i can get him to contact you.
  15. Garmin HRM - Got some great service for EasyGIS when i purchased my Edge 705 & Edge 500. - To date no problems and i like the mapping function on the Edge 705, i do use that quite extensively. - However if you are not interested in the mapping, i use my Edge 500 for races and some running. Take a look and give them a try www.easygis.co.za I emailed them for prices, and all items are covered by the local warranty so no issues there. Try_Hard
  16. It goes without saying that if you order enough items form a supplier they will let you name it what you like?
  17. Hi Guys Chappies - I also have a set of AYUP, by far the best value for money, awsome mounts, well designed they thought of everything you need in one kit. If you are looking for a seond set, try www.easygis.co.za , i see that they now sell them in South Africa as one of AYUP registered dealers. It works out cheaper to buy from them locally than from Australia now. Nobody - If you take a look at www.easygis.co.za you will see that the prices have now come down and are very competitive, 2 x Magiclights at R1499 = R3000, 1 x AYUP V4 at R3999, more mounts, 6hrs + more battery time, well designed and a very important 5 year warranty. Anyway thats just my view, used them both and if you can afford it AYUP is the way to go. Otherwise Magicshine is well worth it.
  18. Hi Guys Yea they really do offer great service at great prices. Bought my AYUP Lights, Edge 705, Edge 500 from them. Job well done keep up the good work Try_Hard
  19. Hi Cycle Fan Dont do it, its R400 for them to just take a look at it. If its broken thats R400 down the drain. Try the guys from EasyGIS, www.easygis.co.za, not sure what they are offering at the moment on the Forerunner 310XT, see if they can arrange something for you, it will be worth it in the long run. Rather than paying Vat, customs clearance fees, exchange rate fluctuations etc, shipping charges etc.
  20. Where to buy a Garmin From my experience, for the best advice, prices, delivery time and service try EasyGIS. They have an advert on the Hub, they have MTB Lights available aswell. www.easygis.co.za www.easygadget.co.za Got my Edge 705 & AYUP Lights from them best service i have received online so far.
  21. Garmin Cycling Watches - I agree with all the other guys so far, if you want an all round watch for Cycling, running canoeing etc then look into the Garmin Forerunner 305 / Forerunner 310XT. - I choose the Garmin Edge 705 because i was using extensivly on my MTB and i enjoy the mapping screen with the ability to create my own maps an upload to the GPS so when i am out on the trail i know where all the other trails are that i can ride on should i want to change it up while i am out there. - There is also the Edge 500 option for your bike, does very much the same as the Edge 500 but without the mapping screen. I did get alot of help from the guys at EasyGIS and they do know there products. So perhaps drop them an email. I see that the prices are cheaper if you add to your shopping cart, so add to your shopping cart for the price you will pay. They also have adverts here on the Hub. Link below to all there fitness / Sport GPS units. http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=126_7
  22. Hey jmt Not sure if you bought your GPS yet. Just wanted to let you know i have bought from EasyGIS before, great prices with the local warranty aswell. I bought a Garmin Edge 705 and a set of lights a short while ago and received great service, delivery in 24hrs. I also see they now have a new website with Bike Lights www.easygadget.co.za - Bike Lights www.easygis.co.za - GPS units I hope this helps.
  23. Madmarc take a look at this calculation quick.... Chain Reaction Cycles - Edge 705 HR & CAD (No Maps) - R3678 - 15.6% Vat - 574 - Total = R4252 EasyGIS - Edge 705 HR & CAD - R4499 (Free Shipping) http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_7 They also sell the South African Map version or you can buy the Topo & Rec Maps extra. But send them an email if you need any assistance. Just spend the extra R247 and get it locally from them, great service and backup as well as accessories, i needed a few extra bike mounts and a carry case and it was all sorted out. Its worth it rather than the hassle of getting from CRC and saving R247. Plus if something goes wrong you dont have the fork out thr R400 fee just for Garmin South Africa to look at it. I got mine from EasyGIS in South Africa along with some lights. Quick fast efficient service. The guys there helped me out and it was next day delivery. No hassles yet and its a great training tool.
  24. Cool Lefty I better understand now. But i am more than happy with the AY-UP lights and with the 10 year warranty it can blow up, melt, catch on fire etc im sure they will be fine. I just like them cause they are super small.....
  25. Go Lefty i am not sure what you mean about dangerous battery's? You get 4 x Lights, 3 x Battery's, Rear Red Light Caps..... etc I bought the AY-UP Lights based on the fact that they have the Brightest LED's and smallest battery's. (I also read the article them 10 out of 10 in the MBR review.) There is also a little more than that in the box and can be used for multiple sports, Hiking, camping, cycling, trekking etc.... I dont think you can do that with the Nightlightning's or Lupines systems. Its would be difficult to cart the huge light and huge battery pack around on your head etc..... Just what i got in my box packed in there was the following. Quite impressive. (Quoted from EasyGIS..... http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=75&products_id=499) 2 x Lights, 2 x Handlebar mounts, 4 x Light mounting bands, 1 x Gecko Light kit, 1 x Gecko battery kit, 2 x HALF EPIC high / low & flashing batteries, 1 x Half Epic battery pouch, 1 x Half Epic lock down strap, 1 x EPIC high / low & flashing battery, 1 x Epic battery pouch 1 x Epic lock down strap, 1 x 110V - 240V Adaptor, 1 x Dual Channel Lithium Polymer Charger, 1 x 12 Volt Adaptor (Cigarette Lighter Adaptor), 1 x Extension cable 1200mm long, enables battery to be placed in backpack or pocket, 1 x Handlebar rubber packer kit to suit Diameters 25mm & 32mm bars,1 x Bundle of 4 cable ties,1 x Headband kit,2 x Red Saxon caps,1 x Waterproof Case ? small , 1 x Wrist band So id say its probably more than you would get from most other lights.
