  2. I have a friend how is certain his Look has a 20 mm Diameter seat post. Thus the reason i`m looking for one. According to a website i found the seat post in 1985 was 25 mm. So my question is , does 20 mm Seatpost exist ???
  3. Thats true , i must say they are full of sh*t...my insurance covers all of the damages if i had. If you want i can put you in touch with my broker ???
  4. My bike was fine, it landed on the guys on the ground(i think....).Can`t say the same for me, i landed far away from them eventually.... I rode in the Didate kit, Red Trek
  5. For some reason my bike was ok, luckily i rode my Shimano wheels... I`m ok , Elbow are swollen and full of Burns as well as my knee, and my ribs are bruised ....i was actually very lucky
  6. I was one of the unforetunate guys that came down in the crash...The only thing this idiot said , was " sorry guys" !!! I mean seriously what will saying sorry help anyway. We were doing approx : 50km/h ... IDIOT !!!!
  7. Rumour has it that next weekend's Carnival Classic will now be part of the Vets and Ladies Proseries! Can anyone please confirm this as my wife has entered for the race as she was under the impression that it will be a ladies only race. If this is true she will have to enter for the Right for Sight rather.
  8. Heard a birdie whisper that apparently there were a big buzz in the ladies and vets racing at the Worlds View Challenge on the weekend! According to my sources some of the Vet Men (and in particular one) openly helped the ladies that ride in the same team kit as him. He fetched waterbottles for the ladies and helped to pace these ladies during the race. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> As a husband of a fellow lady cyclist (and no my wife does not ride in any pro team nor does she even contest the wins) my concern is that what is the use of a ?Pro Series? or if this is going to turn out to be a ?who can sit the wheel the best series?? My wife has already said that if this is going to be the way the series is going to be run then she will not do the races that is part of the series. I share her sentiment that if this is true then you have no chance if you do not have a vet man racing for you! Apparently the ladies and vets will race all these races together! Can anyone confirm this and what races are part of the series? I think the series is a very good idea but I can only see problems for this series if the ladies do race with the vet men for the rest of the series.
  9. No news yet on how the team was selected. Everyone has gone SILENT but I will keep digging and let you know if I find anything!
  10. Cruxpearl, I just want to correct something.. I NEVER attacked Chrissie personally.....I agree she is a very talented rider and have had some very impressive results over the last few years. I am questioning the selection process and how she could be selected for the overseas trip in question. I agree that as soon as she gets back in the peleton she will no doubt win races before the end of the year (2008) but to be out of competition for almost 6 months and then not being able to stick with the other top girls when you actually do race does not enable you to be selected for a team like this! There are other girls that have worked hard the whole year and raced every weekend for the oppurtunity to get into the SA Team (and deserved it!). I just wanted to know on what merit the team was selected and on which results the selectors based their selection!
  11. Just saw the SA Ladies Team that was selected to represent South Africa in New Zealand! Marissa Van der Merwe Chrissie Viljoen Cherise Taylor Anriette Schoeman Lynette Burger Yolandi du Toit I totally agree with the team as all the ladies deserve to be in the team BUT on what merit has CHRISSIE VILJOEN been selected?? As far as I know she has not raced for the best part of 2007 and her "come-back" race was at the Telkom Satellite Challenge. She finished well of the pace, dropping out of the bunch when the top girls made the pace hard on Hekpoort! Just wondering how she could be selected above riders like Luzanne Naude (CBIST) or Arien Torsius?? Surely the selectors can shed some light on the situation as these SA Teams must be chosen on merit??
