  3. Cleaning your chain in petrol is one of the worst things you can do to a chain. It takes out the lube in places where you can’t relube it unless you take every link to pieces... A chain just needs to be cleaned with a dry cloth as it usually take most of the excess grease off. Also when you lube the chain, you should actually wipe it afterwards to get the excess lube off.
  4. Any scott frames come in yet?
  5. During the week of the race take it nice and easy. Do some 2hour LSD pace rides but make sure you have 2 rest days before the event. I took today off, riding tuesday and wednsday and then taking thursday off (The day to service you bike if nessesary). Then friday I will do a 1 hour ride with 3 short sprints (10 Sec each) Race day, you really must take a dump like Cassie said and do a good warm up 30-45min before the start doing some sprints or what ever you do so that you don't getting that blood tast (your body crying for oxygen) in your mouth when you sprint off in the start. Then, Drink! Drink ! Drink! so that you dont bonk and cramp...
  6. Hi My frame has got a crack in it and I need to find out the price of a new one for insurance purposes. Please could someone help me find out how much a new one costs.

  15. A delivery service is also a nice option to have.
  16. I would take the GT frame with the the silverback comps. The sivlerback frames have crap designed geometry.
  17. what about cross country? Think a ust or protection tire would be better. Are you doing sabie? What would you suggest for that race as i've never ridin there before. I got two rocket rons. would that do the job? Looks like its gonna be a muddy weekend..
  18. I am going tubless with the stans rim tape and valve but can't you still get pitch flats through the tire like a cut or something. When ever you see pro's having puntures, its mostly because they are riding with light tires. I dont think i want to take the chance. Does stans rims enable you to ride lighter tires? I weigh 65kg
  19. Im also getting a new race wheel set built up. ZTR Podium MMX rims + a2z hubs + DT Swiss revolution spokes and DT swiss compitition spokes on the drive side of the rear wheel for extra strength. What Tires are you going to run on them? Im running a rocket ron on the front and dont know what to go for the back wheel. Im worried about pinch flats so thinking of going for the race king tubeless for the back.
  20. Yes it was my fork. You guys must go check out this site http://service.foxracingshox.com/consumers/index.htm gives you detailed pictures and videos on how to service your fox suspension.
  21. Recently my shock started leaking oil and I had done about 2000km on the shock since I last serviced it. I was looking arround on the fox website and found a video that shows you how to service you own shock so I thought I could save some bucks by servicing it my self. I went to my LBS to order the part I needed which was about 200mm of suspension fluid, the 32mm dust wiper kit and 2 fox float fluid pillow packs. I went back a few days later to pick up the parts and said to them that I would pay for it with the other parts i ordered that still needed to arrive. So i went to pay for the stuff the next day and they had charged me R450 for the suspension parts. Can someone tell me if this is correct because if it is, then i might as well send it in next time because it ends up being almost the same price.
  22. haha i suppose so carbon crunchy2010-02-09 14:36:00
