  1. I'm a little annoyed I've done 3 ASG events since August last year. I'm in CL, my friend has done 1, I beat her at this race, she's in BL. It's because my average across the 3 is higher than her seeding on the 1. *grumpy* I'm sure it's tricky to formulate a seeding algorithm but I'm sure if I was trying do one I might take into account number of races into it...
  2. All the wattbikes at the gyms I've been to have 60min limit stickers on them. However no one has interrupted my session, they mostly go to 90mins but I've noticed that no one sticks around long enough to notice I've been on for more than 60mins. I don't make a moat... my clothes and hair will be soaked through but sadly no moat... People should be proud of their puddles.
  3. Cool! Nothing against racing snakes Now I noticed the mtb'ers in the pic. I'm keen to give this a go. I'm sorry I missed it. You can be a little more "spammy" with your announcement for the next one Kudos to being good to your only lady.
  4. Is this only for racing snakes? Looks like fun but not fun if you're the only non racing snake...
  5. The advantage of Darkhouse wheels on my baby is that there is more wheel per bike than your average bike! The bike is not going to detract from the awesome wheels!
  6. I'm an android developer, it's a badly written app. The backend may be a bit slow too but the app doesn't keep track of the user state and that's just silly. It should take you to the login screen when it detects you aren't logged in anymore. If they don't want to keep the user logged in, which isn't a great user experience either. Grrrr....
  7. Dude! It's not a penalty! It's the road to fitness! I'm thinking I just got trolled...
  8. Interesting that you feel like you're being screwed over... About a year before they implemented this, I heard some stats come out of Discovery that their members on gold cost them the least amount in terms of claims etc. So they implement a program designed to get you fitter (emulate the members on gold, that are costing them less money because they aren't as sick). I'm happy to be screwed over, if I cost my medical aid less, I'm generally a happier person. It would be impossible for them to cater for everyone with one program, this program caters for most people. I'm not sure why you feel like the playing field isn't level? Unfortunately the nature of fitness is that you have to do more and more to keep your fitness, nature's a bitch. If Discovery didn't lower the points for people who didn't reach their points, those people would stop exercising - kind of defeats the point of the program. those people whose points are going up because they're meeting their goals are actually getting fitter and benefiting from the system, in more ways than Discovery's rewards. In the long term they will get sick less, cost their medical aid less and be happier human beings.
  9. Wow, this thread is such a good example of how people don't want to take responsibility for their lives, how they live or what they do. Discovery do something rather innovative and pretty darn cool and now it's Discovery's fault because they don't train properly - don't warm up, go harder than recommended, for a smoothie or because they didn't think the purchase of an apple watch through? I feel like I got a new insight into how much blame people are willing to place on someone else for their own troubles. Rather interesting...
  10. September ftp 135w, 57kg = 2,36 May ftp 161w, 57kg = 2.82 Following a more structured program now, hoping by the end of July I can get it to 3w/kg. Planning on dropping some weight in order to do that. I know 57kg looks low but trust me there is plenty to drop there! Entered The Jock, so have several reasons to jettison the extra padding!
  11. My friend and I have joined in a few of the groups mid ride and have only ever been met with friendly and encouraging comments. It can definitely be intimidating when those large groups come past however and I think people do sometimes forget about the rider a little too soon after they have passed because they're trying to stay on the wheel on front, hold the line etc. Something I've noticed too is that when I pass a slower rider, just as I get to them, they swerve out into me. I know it's not intentional but seems to happen almost every time. It could result in a shout, because as the passing rider it can also get a bit close and scary. Also to be fair, a lot of those groups are joined mid ride by other riders who may not have been briefed or know how to ride in a group. It is something one needs to learn.
