  1. Still trying to 'back pedal' out of that one I see. Better hope the bank isnt contacted or you're going to be up some serious trouble. As for the gumtree ads guys are posting, thats serious too, they should be pulled down right away (unless they are Ken's) Also, I think posting Ken's emails is seriously bad taste. Even though that last email someone posted showed some incredible hatred from him, and some really intolerant behavior, its still no reason to post it here. Lets face the facts. Cyclists are always breaking the road rules. If it's not having total disregard for common traffic rules, it's being selfish and hogging the road by riding abreast. I see roadies throwing rubbish around, and now defecating on someone's property?? It's no wonder this guy is so worked up.
  2. Admin knows about this thread I'm sure, it should have been deleted after the first threat. It must pay to have hits. I personally dont care if it stays or goes to be honest. It's not my wife's name and number posted here. I'm merely stating the facts, and pointing out how incredibly distasteful this all is. Google has already cached this thread so yes, if Ken wanted to, he could get hold of the threats.
  3. That may be true - but the problem is that there are so many idiots out there it only takes a single person to take that it seriously' date=' and someone dies.? [/quote'] True that, but his email was addressed to a private party, not posted on a public forum that Google will trawl and save forever. His email could be regarded as a PM, and I'm sure MANY things get said in jest through PMs. The guys on this site have taken things to another level with this one. Let's just say, for argument's sake, he did knock down a cyclist, or shock one with a cattle prod, it would be up the involved party to make the relevant charge. The problem here is that people have been vindictive and their actions could, if not already, cause Ken some damage. I'm appalled. capecyclist2009-09-16 09:13:40
  4. Hi Gasping. Nobody is above the law. One crime does not justify another. See how quickly a crimen injura charge will take you down. Just do a little search and you'll see that it's one crime that is taken very seriously in SA. There was a case not too long ago of a disgruntled ex-husband who got charged for posting lurid ads on Gumtree about his ex-wife. They traced the ad poster back to him and he got jail time for it. You see the consequences of your actions might be quantifiable. While this guy might have said some hateful things, and openly admitted to assault, you guys are doing things which might damage his business reputation and wellbeing, thus, if he can prove this (like he might get blacklisted for the phoney credit card purchases, pizza etc) he could lay charges. Sometimes jokes have real consequences, thats all I'm saying. cheers

  6. hi guys,it's really not good to attack this person like this. His original email is an admission of guilt, and qualifies for a number of crimes. The correct thing to do is to take a copy of the email to the police station and lay some charges. With the amount of other things he's said and done, it will be likely that some of those charges will stick. What you are doing is committing crimes yourselves. Crimen Injura is one of them. You are deliberately and openly doing things which can cause damage to his company and wellbeing. Be very careful what you type here an the internet. Your IP is logged, and in the terms and conditions that you all agreed to, this information can be used in a criminal case on request by a lawyer with a police warrant. Don't for a second think you can hide behind your Hub name or avatar. Sending him pizzas and logging him onto suspect sites, or using false credit card info is a crime. Rather do the right thing, report him, lay some charges, and move on with your lives. Cheers
  7. too much time on your hands perhaps?
  8. looks like you had fun. the 'Just Married' sign is cool btw. the best part about "a whole lot of nothing" is that you can have LOTS of veld sessions if ya know what I mean
  9. Frail, have you sent out an emailer to ALL of the bike shops with the bike's serial number? It's a pity that it was taken to a bike store and not picked up there. Keep on the hunt, and keep pressuring the police. Lets hope it turns up.
  10. it will be great if they catch this criminal. DONT GIVE UP DUDE!
  11. +1, was just going to ask that. What about other electronic items like hifi gear etc?
  12. someone here has got far too much free time on his hands. my chain measuring tool from Park works just fine.
  13. From Stan's website: "If you are interested in rotating weight (and who's not!!) you can lose anywhere from 100 grams up to 400 grams of rotating weight per wheel set." - (not sure if this can REALLY be felt from my side) more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_performance http://analyticcycling.com/WheelsConcept_Page.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bicycle_wheel that, and the fact I can run my tyres at nearly half the pressure I used to with tubes, I never get pinch flats anymore and have not had a puncture in a long time, is why I'll never go back to tubes again. It's a messy job to install them, and some tyres have walls that never properly seal (where I've read some guys add extra glitter to the mix). Ive seen some tyres blister as well, but, when it works, it's the best upgrade you can make to a bike. The ghetto conversion is brilliant too. A bunch of guys who rode the freedom challenge used this method to great effect.
  14. So you're complaining because the traffic police did their jobs?
