  1. what was he doing on the Cobra. that is a no running no walking. just mountain biking????
  2. Yes indeed. Two walkers and a dog. MTbiker came from blockhouse at a hell of a speed, did shout but because of his speed they could not get out of the way in time(plus dog) and he lost a bit of balance and at that moment the walker shouted to watch out as he was all wobbly. Walker should not have done that. Biker got off his bike. stormed up to them and shouted at them for being so ignorant .......+++ fortunately the walker just admitted to be wrong and said to be very sorry which then diffused his anger. Fortunately I say because we all know how things can escalate when you try and match another's anger. point still is:: we all just need to calm the damn down and be nice people.
  3. Just needing to put it out there that Table Mountain Routes, paths etc gets shared between all. Please do that responsibly. Nobody is above behaving like a decent person. It is very definitely NOT a race track, for nobody. So the guys who like to race and do not like to slow down for people, dogs kids etc please go somewhere else where you can race to your hearts content. Seriously people we all love the Mountain and want to be in that beautiful space in harmony. We have enough aggression as it is every day around us. It goes for all of us out there. Enjoy whatever you do.
  4. thanks. I will check the air pressure tonight. My legs are unfortunately just too short. The post is at its lowest.
  5. thanks Alan. But this is a brand new dropper. Bike came with it. Hence my concern. I had one ride with the bike so far and that problem existed before the ride No side to side.
  6. I need some input/advise ??? Bought new bike with first EVER dropper seatpost. Me legs are very short so I can never fully extend it. So when not fully extended, so I can reach pedals, there is some movement down when I sit on the saddle. About 4-5mm. is that normal or not? Must it be bled? etc. I would rather get it sorted sooner than later if that is necessary. Thanks Ansi
  7. Many thanks. Shifter on handlebar ...always wanted to change to 1 x 10. I have a clutch and it normally stays engaged. Longer in teeth sounds better then normally
  8. and I use only the small ring in front in anyway. and that is where it is. I feel duh this morning
  9. No damn I meant the front derailleur..damn damn damn... Monday morning fog
  10. I am not very technical minded but have a fair dose of common sense. But that means nothing when dealing with chains, cables, derailleurs etc I had a good old crash yesterday and my shimano rear shifter is kaput. klaar . gedaan. Cable have a kink and so on. I decided just to remove the cable and shifter, since shifter will have to be replaced or repaired. I have a two by ten, which now is a one by ten???? Can I go ahead and mtb until I can replace or fix???
  11. Can anybody shed some light on apparent crash? Gina Nixon had this weekend. And also the results please.
  12. Ok so none of the above was the problem. The bearings in the bottom wheel pushed through to the outside which then scrape against the derailleur and the chain came off on the inside. Jaco from TBS popped it back into position again and now all is fine. if what I have described here does not make sense....ask Hairy to explain.
  13. I have now for the last 2-3 years commuted from Tableview to Sea Point every day. Besides the three months leading up to the Argus it is a wonderful pleasurable trip. But from January up until the Argus it is really NOT so pleasurable. It is not the increase in cyclist but the unfriendliness and some downright rudeness of a lot of these cyclists. Some think they are on a racetrack and please just get out of the way so they can continue. No whistle to let you know they are approaching from behind (we all know you cannot always hear a bike approaching) So make a noise (a nice one) whistle and we get out of the way but to try and actually ride you off the path and then continue with lots of shaking the head, cursing etc. Really??? Take the car if you want to be rude. And go and do your speed sprints at Killarney. The bike path was NOT build to do your speed training on. People walking to work, runners, kids on skateboards and little ones on their bicycles, they all use this lane. So please ...be mindful, friendly and respect the other users.
