  1. I had nothing but good service, I sent a query via the website on Monday morning around 6 am, 8:20 I received a reply...a day later my bike was serviced. They kept me up to date and phoned twice with feedback. As for the workmanship, if I survive Amashova this weekend...it was good enough. It could be a glitch in the system...$h!te happens every now and then..
  2. Nice one guys. .I think I'm one of the lucky few..wife even left all her friends and family in Gauteng to move to CT so I can enjoy MTB and windsurfing more...bliksem...sometimes you have to count your blessings and say them out loud every once in a while.. The issue is, as Iron and the Captain mentioned...planning, they need to know, what, where and how long...and some time in advanced is always appreciated.. The one issue I do have to deal with is..costs...bike, races etc that sometimes grinds her the wrong way..but there is compromise, ride my old hardtail 26'er and have a happy wife..or get that awesome looking dually..and have her be not so happy... now to try and get approval for the Epic entry...
  3. Some nice shots DaLoCo, the lion Cub is my favorite thus far, so keep em coming! Was cruising around Worcester the other day and visited the karoo tuin or something like that, still a pity that you may not cycle there..
  4. Light reading meaning with your camera using the spot metering? or with a hand held meter? Will give the spot metering a go next time!!
  5. Thanks boet.. The exposure was a bit of a pain, focus on the sun rays and the rest is under exposed..focus away from the sun rays, and the rays get over exposed...in the end I had to bump up the exposure on Iphoto and remove some of the shadow so you can see the grass...but came out nice.
  6. Some awesome shots lads! Was in the karoo the weekend...I'll have to work on the "Art" pictures....
  7. Nice trail!! Where is it...

  11. Some great advice, thanks gents! --> when???
  12. Jup, I get the ISO setting..was taking pics at ISO 100, F11 on a tripod but the image was still "noisy" I only seem to have this issue with sunsets/sunrises that have all the orange/blue etc at night pics are fine... probably just need to practice more..will try and post some examples tomorrow...(on other PC)
  13. Also battling to get the sunset pics to be nice and noise free, what camera you been using Slowbee? I'm trying to figure out if it is the Camera or the lens that I am using...still nice pics though!!

  18. Would've loved to take some more shots but time was a bit limited, Geece how does the hdr work, do you take the same shot at different exposures and then 'overlay' they? Does this then add more detail and depth to the pic? Anyone have an example?
  19. Ohh!! Nice, thanks beetle!
  20. Shot this DC3 at Wonderboom in March….
  21. Nice pics guys!! Keep'em coming!
  22. Jup, I agree but you can probably re-create that grain with some editing software... When I was in the US I went into a gallery of Peter Lik, the guy takes the most detailed/sharp pictures..pretty amazing!! One of his photos sold for $1mil.. Link to the pic.. http://www.peterlikexposed.com/archives/237
  23. Good question, ISO refers to the sensitivity of the Film to light..hence the higher the ISO the more sensitive, the less time(exposure) is needed..with DSLR's I guess this refers to the sensor and it's sensitivity towards light...you still loose some sharpness, (more "noise"), when you bump up the ISO on DSLRs too... But from a technical perspective...not sure what causes it in DSLR... Damit, too slow..geecee beat me to it...
  24. Ha ha, no I was in the US for 5 months as an expat and me and wife tried to travel as much as we could, did a two day stint in Vegas while we toured the west coast.. I'm using a Nikon D5100, the pro's will call it a toy but I've been having loads of fun with it..have the 18-55 lens that came with the camera and then a 70-300mm which I bought additional (for wifey to take video/pics of me on the bike/windsurfer..) Ja nee kyk Vegas was odd, was good times but won't go back just for Vegas...they gave me and my wife cards with "working" women on with no clothes..even when we walk hand in hand down the strip...was woes and Oh..JDR..one day when I'm big..and have a 4x4..I wanna do that!! looks awesome!
  25. Close your eyes Fruity....
