    CRC

I would like to find out if anyone has ordered from CRC and if they were happy with the service. ALSO; were there any extra costs when the order arrives? I want to order an indoor trainer from them and want to make sure that the price will still be worth it - even if there is extra costs.
  2. Those trails look really great ;-)
  3. There were quite a few in my group OH - obviously including me ;-) But not enough ;-(
  4. At least most of us are in agreement about why we will be wearing the black armband. Added to that, it will ALSO create awareness. Some people may not know why it is being done and will question it. When people talk about such issues, it will certainly make them be aware and on the lookout more than they might have been before. Thousand of people watching the event on tv will also get the message as it will definitely be mentioned. Therefore, even if looking at it clinically ( and I'm by no means doing that) it is a great way of creating awareness without having to pay advertising and marketing fees. CSA, etc, can all just work from there and keep the momentum going. I will wear my black armband with pride. I was brought up with that tradition - to honour and remember those who passed away.
  5. you got me on that one... how are you planning to do that? I agree with cat-i. Better to assume you're invisible and to ride defensively than to assume they see you, and get run down. I actually drive that way as well. Think for everyone around you.
  6. My heart goes out to the family and friends of these cyclists. Also prayers to them all, as well as those who witnessed this. This is an image I hope to never experience. It could easily have been any one of us when riding out there. I'm sure most of us have had close shaves with vehicles and this just make me realize how blessed we are to be alive and safe. May the rest in peace.
  7. Happy birthday! May you have many more
  8. It depends on your rims. I once snapped a tyre lever trying to get Gatorskins onto a Campag Scirroco rim. I don't even need a tyre lever to get the exact same tyre onto some Mavic Open Pros. I've got Shimano rims - can't be more specific at the moment as I took the bike for a service this morning and don't know the exact 'model' - and I confirmed the Maxxi tyres are foldable, so they definitely would be easier. I had no difficulty with the fitting when I needed to change. The gators would definitely be different/more difficult.
  9. Haha - as I normally train with my mountainbike on our roads (sooo much glass, etc next to the roads) I'm sure the rolling resistance would be much better than my mtb-tyres! Currently using Maxxis. How would that compare with Gatorskins?
  10. A bit of everything, I guess. Training, riding/racing , definitely puncture protection! Pretty much an allround tyre by the looks of things.
  11. I need advice on the best option for new tyres for my roadbike. Gatorskins, Ultra Gatorskins, Grand Prix 4000S, etc are options. As a female who mostly train alone, I need to have as little as possible (preferably no trouble) problems with tyres. I would appreciate advice from people who knows the above tyres - or suggestions (and why) about other tyres. Thanks in advance
  12. Saw him resting outside Mossel Bay on 20 Feb and still wanted to chat to them when I came back from my ride, but by the time I got back, they were already on their way. Then I drove past them the next day when I went to CT and couldn't stop because of the traffic. What a shame - would love to have met such an extraordinary person, as well as the support person. This really takes a lot of guts and I applaud you. Hope you arrived safely in good old CT today.
  13. Correct!
  14. I haven"t done any exercise for over nine years and then considered cycling, but was too scared. As you know the pain is excrutiating to say the least. However, almost a year ago, a friend who also suffered from back problems suggested I do start and then also use the inversion table. I did both. After a while I started doing core strengthening exercises (despite knowing that it would help alleviate the pain - this was before I started cycling -, doing the exercises actually caused more pain for me). Now, after starting to cycle, I can actually do the exercises. Stretching definitely helped as well and I also started going to gym two weeks ago. This was a gradual process for me, but cycling is my saviour from fatness, boredom, unfitness and generally just lifts my spirits. And no pain - despite falling several times during mountain bike rides ;-D - which is a blessing in my books. Usually, other things bring on the pain and then I would take the necessary pain relievers and anti-inflammatories and REST. virgo2010-02-11 06:34:21
