  1. Hehehehe this is funny. I like
  2. You people should move to the Souf. Here wa are all liking to greet ich other. Seriously, we tend to get more people greeting. I tandem with my 12 year old daughter and everyone greets as well. No issues for us at least or maybe it is just the fact that if you do not greet I turn around and chase you down and beat the living last remaining crap out of you til you greet back, oh sorry got confused with motorists again. Ah well at least I know that everyone that tries in whatever form or fashion to greet back leaves an impression on my daughter at least. For the rest we understand.
  3. So last week of training then 2 weeks of taper and then it is D Day. Hope everyone has a great last week of training. See you all on the day.
  4. This way we look after our own. Well done and some good news. Good on you and the cops.
  5. Will give it a go after reading this
  6. I am doing all my MTB rides in Suikerbos as well. Sure it is not for MTB but you get the training that is needed. If not there I spent my time in Midvaal racecourse. Really sad the fact that I live on the Fast One and other cycling routes and I cannot risk riding these routes by myself. I now addopt this rule: Would you let your child ride on that road? If no what are you doing there? Sad indeed.
  7. Sad Sad day - R.I.P.
  8. EISH
  9. Very Sad, At least recon he spent some quality time with his daughter. Condolences to his family
  10. Eye Candy, very nice
  11. 5 weekends left + 2 weeks taper, keep this in mind and remember that you most probably cannot jump from 4 hours 1 week to 8 hours the next week and keep it up. Just try do what you can and train hard for 2011 and learn from 2010.
  12. Bank the miles now so you can withdraw them on the day. This will be a tough day and you should be prepared to some climbing
  13. sad news indeed, my sincerest condolences
  14. Can still smell the leather awesome bike good luck and many many good miles. PS now YOU have to make this bike LOOK good as well hehehe
  15. What is the total cost?
  16. Hunter riding for slipstream Garmin if I am not mistaken. Awesome show and fond memories.
  17. I own 3 meridas for one reason, Service. I am not saying that you would not get great service anywhere else BUT I did Epic on my mission 3000d this year Derrick told me he would send back Triangle with me for free as I had vehicle backup that could carry the spare. If used I would the just pay for the part. I did not take him up on his offer (time issues) and in the end had no technicals. Must say I had good technical team servicing my bike (Grant Cycles). My brother arrived from Dubai last year crater cruise only to find his bike trashed in the airport. Once again I gave Derrick a call and he gave my boet a loan AM 800 for the event. My boet now owns the AM 500D. Just my experience thus far
  18. Already used 2 of the bibs and did 3 x SBR in the last 2 days and no problems
  19. Just to thank all the people in particular Mark and Ryan from First Ascent. I had a chat to Ryan at the 94.7 regarding some minor stitching issues on my 3 bibs and he told me he would replace for me. I took it to him the next day (last week and Friday) and they shipped me 3 new bibs that arrived yesterday. I do appreciate this service and I will be loyal to the brand for a long time to come. Well done guys and looking forward to the Revolution bibs in Dec. PS: I did the Epic in those bibs so please treat them with the respect they deserve The wife had to wash them the night before so just a little stiching and they are ready to be sold again
  20. Fork will make you faster for sure
  21. I run 2 caseetes and 1 = 12 - 23 and the other is 12 - 25 and as you said I use the 23 for flat and the 25 for the hills this combined with my 39 - 53 cranks. Works for me
  22. And while picking up tubes you are also cleaning the roads. I like .
  23. This is like most coastal towns I know. They hate not dislike but hate the traffic we create with our vehicles in December BUT then this seems to be the very same lifeline that keeps them alive for the next 11 months. Do not know the CRADLE route but pretty sure there must be some kind of spinn off for them??? It truly starts with yourself and what example you set for the kids in the car or on the bike or wherever since they will be the drivers in a couple of years time. We are seeing the same thing in SBR and thus they are currently thinking about closing to cyclists. Sad that it takes but 2 or 3 confused people to completely ruin it for all.
  24. Dude I had exactly the same issue not one week ago. Ended up doing a race with my gears all over the place. In my case I also replaced with the HG93 chain which is designed for 9 speed and this is where all my issues came from. Went to cycle shop fitted 10 speed chain and just like that life was good again. Just my experience. Good luck
