    Bike Hub Pay

Hi No Argument just my opinions Lets say that I am not happy with putting my personal details out there. That was what stopped my sale. POPIA and Identity checking sound all cool and upstanding ... but we know criminals don't play by the rules. I'm a keep it simple kinda guy. I say that BHP saw a gap in the market and filled it. Great Im not seeing its value as other hubbers do. No suggestions Im just not seeing the value and as you have read in the threads .... the cost of the does play a role in the offer price - rightly or wrongly. We wont know the real truth. What this thread has done is spark some conversation. This is my last comment on the matter Thanks

Thanks for the response Nick. I appreciate your point. but just to say BHP was not created to build trust. there is NO trust hence BHP. people don’t talk anymore particularly the younger generations and as you heard there are also lost deals because of BHP Will we every really know? I don’t think so As A 3rd party payer I can quite understand the requirements. and for POPIA … we really do hope that works ! How many call s do you receive for a cellphone contract/ insurance / etc. the theory is great! as for returns … glad that that is considered. Thanks finally we have all been scammed and that is just not ok ! So I see the reason for BHP. BUT .. I do believe buyers do take this fee into account. that is only human nature. BHP has complicated the process I will continue NOT to use BHP and will now include in my adverts do appreciate you input Warren

    Bike Hub Pay

Glad I found this thread I'm a Hubber of many years there is a question as to why people are reluctant to use BHP Here is my take We put up an item for sale (assume we have done some homework on pricing )and we build a slight bit of negotiation 5% maybe little more Then I get a lowball offer ! like 20% + down on price. So now an offer comes in which I then accept ....... BUT only after a negotiation via message /whatsapp So the buyer is low balling because he has to pay BHP which can add a significant value. So he's covering his excess and the seller actually carries the cost. (indirectly of course) AND WHY .... because we can't trust the other person I say call me and Ill show you the product via video chat and we can have a conversation. If you are in each other's area pop over and look. You can easily pick up the serious buyer / seller I will not USE BHP. They want my ID number, copies of this to verify against home affairs really ... WHY? They are just a middle man. Im not sending such private info over a platform like this. BHP are acting as a holding agent for funds so buyer can see goods first. I understand that BUT lets have the scenario where the buyer now rejects the item ... who pays for the return courier / postage, who safeguards the seller until he get his item back ... Now I know no system is perfect but IMHO - this is a costly service and sellers are not getting value for their sale items. I am not willing to carry the cost of a buyer that cant pick up the phone and talk and view product.
  4. @ NEWBIE321 If you work out ..that is 300m of climb in every 10km. add some heat and it will take its toll. 6 hrs gives you and average of 10km/h. so definitely doable ... compare that with what you do on a weekend !
  5. The problem with todays bikes etc , is the cost at counter. How can a basic new bike cost you 30K and i'm seeing this bike sell for 30-40 % less on hub a few month later ..... with upgraded components ? Also dont think that is cool. My other question was about retailers using the classifieds as their advertising space. The likes of Bike Market etc I like bike market and have had good service and just bought a bike from them at what I considered a good price. IMO it was underpriced. So I'm selling my Old bike (2017 old?) and Bike Market want to offer me a price that I consider to be way too low. So sure, this is there business model and they need to make money but does this not then force the price down of second hand goods ..... which brings us to my first point ... are we paying too much to start with? But the topic of the thread ... things do seem to be getting tighter ! Seems more going to fuel electricity blah blah ..... I think Im starting to whine !
  6. Just had the OFFSHORE RIG - PETROLEUM ENGINEER scam Bobby Johnson - FFS !!! DAMN ! What a waste of time. Back and forth !!! anyway I still have my bike for sale and a little bit of sanity left JUST A HEADS UP
