1. Hi Tim Any idea when the seeding info will be out? thanks Alton
2. i am 80 Kgs and ride at 1800, so go less that that...
3.
Cant say i was happy with the event, for a first time rider,i found the course markings were terrible, took worng turns all over the place...If i knew the course, it may have been better, but not knowing the route made the ride frustrating..

but yes, glad it was a shorter course the mud was crazy...

4. Hi all Anyone know where I can get 29er spokes in the Pretoria area, called Spokeworks and they dont even have stock? thanks A
5. why go to the alps if you can go the umko valley?? ;-) i ski in the alps, MTB in SA ;-)
6. HAHA, not at all man, will be my fifth Sani, gets better every year, well worht the entry fee.. we must have received R3000 worth of clothing last year as well....

10. HAHA, i can see nostrils flaring on the Hub today....
11. no need to try justify the purchase, its excellent for what is intended, as i tried to say in my post.. it all depends on what you want to do with the bike...
12. I must admit i dont do crazy technical riding, XC\Marathon type riding is more my game.. went from an AM full sus 130mm travel, to a Cannondale Carbon 29er 90 ml front hardtail and its a dream, kept the other bike for a while, but eventually sold it as i was never using it... so it all depends on your riding. in the latest MBR uk Mag, the guys did a trail test on 29er trail bikes and they seem to be convinced or at least starting to believe a bit in the 29ers... they never used to have anything good to say about 29ers.. The problem is it isnt easy to get a bike to try out for a little while here in SA, it doesnt help to go for one ride on a 29er, chances are you will hate it, it takes quite a while to get used to the bigger wheels..
13. Go for a 29er, I was sceptical at first, but made the change and haven’t looked back. You will eventually give in to buying a 29er, so buy one now rather than wasting your money on a 26er and having to buy a 29er later..
14. yeah, I agree, it was a nightmare last year to get stock of the Cannondales, luckily i got mine, not sure about the stock levels this year.. maybe the local distributors dont back the market, dont want to over commit.. in the UK and the States, the deals you get for the previous years stock are amazing, we just dont get those deals here as perhaps there isnt spare stock of the top end bikes.. maybe they should order more and drop the prices?????
15. Buy a Cannondale rather....
16. HI there Anyone have a garmin file, with a nice MTB route to Cullinan from Pretoria East?

22. anyone out there in the Machining business - here is a definate business oppurtunity... I will be the first to support you
23. Chain suck twice, I suppose my gears werent set correctly. Fell and broke once the last time, which was now, the thing just disintergrated on the lip which the der adjustment screw pushes against. the problem i have with it is; why is it so expensive, i would buy 10 of them if they were cheap to keep as spares, you can fix it on the trail, so its not a problem. but for something that is designed to break and they know this, why do they put a mark up on it, they shoudlnt be making a profit on something like this. apparently they are out of stock, so it must be a common problem...
24. I fully understand that hanger must be weaker than the frame, but i have never had a hanger as week as this one..
25. Does anyone else out there have a Cannondale Flash Carbon 29er 2011? Anyone with opinions on the hangers? i have had to replace mine 5 times in 6 months and the cost is R440.00 for one? how can it be so expensive for something that really doesnt last?? HOw much can it cost to get into the Country, how much is omnico putting as a markup?? frustrated as the bike is amazing, but it is a real weakness that is costing me an arm and a leg...
