Re-calculate using the cost price the wholesaler pays and that R700 probably triples. However, I understand they don't sell thousands of these and have all the above you mentioned to pay for. Edit: Just had a thought on supporting/buying local vs buying from overseas. Hypothetically speaking what if everything was priced here the same as what it would cost to import? Everyone would buy local, local market will do better, more entrants into the market bringing in products that aren't currently available in SA. I should probably stop dreaming now.
