  1. Not sure if these are the jumps you referring to? They nowhere "near vertical" tho
  2. Here's my insta for some MTB and other random shots: https://www.instagram.com/careldevilliers/ @careldevilliers
  3. I highly doubt thats true, I'll have to compare my crank to a 175mm one to be sure. The older M770 cranks all have different weights for each length:
  4. We're both riding 2015 Giant Reigns if I'm correct so same geo and BB height except yours is a bit more raked out. I experienced significantly less pedal strike going from 175's to 170's and honestly couldn't feel the 3% difference. The jump from 175's to 165's would likely be noticeable but if you're not very tall I rate you'll get used to it after the first ride. Interesting article on the subject of crank length and pedaling efficiency: http://www.cobbcycling.com/crank-length-coming-full-circle/
  5. I'm 1.90m tall and ride a 170mm crank, I honestly couldn't feel the difference coming from a 175mm crank, only difference is I now have fewer pedal strikes.
  6. The rims cost the same, just in the review the 27.5 and 29er rims are laced on differently priced hubs.
  7. Re-calculate using the cost price the wholesaler pays and that R700 probably triples. However, I understand they don't sell thousands of these and have all the above you mentioned to pay for. Edit: Just had a thought on supporting/buying local vs buying from overseas. Hypothetically speaking what if everything was priced here the same as what it would cost to import? Everyone would buy local, local market will do better, more entrants into the market bringing in products that aren't currently available in SA. I should probably stop dreaming now.
  8. Agreed, but here's what I don't understand: Fox MSRP US$249 = ~R3250 R3250 + 25% Duty + 14% VAT + 10% SARS = R4688 This is still R700 cheaper than buying it locally. Surely the SA wholesaler doesn't buy these at recommended retail price from Fox?
  9. I'd buy it if it was around R3250 (US$249), but in SA we get always get screwed.
  10. That said, all the events were really well organised and the racing was epic! Just hope they can sort out the timing system for next year otherwise I'll rather spend the money on shuttle days
  11. "...and here's the provisional overall Category results for the day." Those results are not final. They usually post a PDF with the official WP Enduro branding on with the final results. My name is next to the wrong race number on that sheet.
  12. Yeah, weird seeing this article before the official results are released...
  13. Almost as much as the new S-Works hahahaha
  14. Handmade in Cape Town and custom colour options don't come cheap!
  15. 3 pages of pure product roasting!
  16. More clutter than a teenagers bedroom.
  17. Ag nothing wrong with Spezza just so many of them in Stellenbosch you'd think the brand was born here.
  18. Haha! I don't own a spez, I ride a Giant Reign. Had a good laugh at this
  19. Regardless of price, the whole Stellenbosch will be riding the new Spezza #Enduro soon!
  20. Lapierre design inspiration.
  21. Corrected that for you
  22. I already earn a living. This would be more of a non-profit community/bundling of orders type thing.
  23. Reading this makes me keen to open an online store that sells grey/gray imports at cost.
  24. Not even necessary to develop an app, we could just bundle everyone's orders within a set distance and then once it arrives collect/courier to each person. The only issue is after sales service, then again if there's no factory defect its just another wear and tear part you'll be replacing sometime in the future anyway. I've seen the EBIT figures of some of these distributer companies and its sickening. The R4m fine is pocket change.
