  1. If it rains, very very technical! If not, there is great flowing single track! Jeep track and forestry roads take you up the mountains! I would suggest you guys train lots of climbs and get the fitness up! Do multiple climbs at groenkloof on the Onion climb or go out and ride breedts neck a few times in the next month to get use to the amount of climbing you will do at Sabie! Good luck and have fun! Best place to ride a bike (in the dry)!
  2. Awesome. That's great. How were the roads, condition and traffic wise? Looks like a great route and perfect distance
  3. Hi all I want to do a 130km road ride on Tuesday morning leaving irene at 5am. What is the best route with best roads to cullinan? What other goods routes head out that direction for 130km? I'm on the road bike. Thanks all
  4. Looking forward to the race this weekend. Looks like quite a bit of rain on Saturday and then slowly clearing! Is everybody ready for the race or going to use the prologue as their training session? :-)
  5. D Batch for me.... should be nice and quick hopefully!
  6. anyone looking for an entry to the 52km let me know.... I am down with flu at the moment so not sure if I am going to be able to ride on Sunday! PM me
  7. Hi Andy Just a quick question, what will the seeding for the batches be based on? We have entered and will ride using a racetec chip... Will you pull seeding data from saseeding.co.za which is the Mtb accepted seeding database and most accurate seeding system around? Thanks
  8. Was 108kg and now I weigh 73kg. That's in about two years of cycling. Completed the Joberg2c this year along with the sani2c and ride all the big marathon races. Would never have been able to even dream of doing that two years ago!
  9. Thanks Wessel! Appreciate the feedback. Looking forward to hitting the trails tomorrow! Cheers
  10. Still no email. When will the other emails be sent out for those that entered yesterday and the day before?

  12. Ok no problem. Will wait for an email tomorrow hopefully. Cheers
  13. I entered yesterday. Where does a seeding of 31 put me anyway?
  14. Hi Wessel Have not received an email yet with my seeding for the marathon. I have a Saseeding index of 31, which batch does that put me in for the marathan? My full name is Craig Kingham. Thanks Craig
  15. Ye I am feeling the same towards cross fit. It will lead to over training if I have that much high intensity training every week. I am leaning towards a structured program at the gym that focusses on strength training. My fitness is decent from the high intesity indoor sessions with the coach during the week.
  16. Hi All Thinking about incorporating some gym or crossfit into my training program. Currently do two hard 1 hour indorr sessions with a coach on a Tuesday and Thursday and normally a long base mtb ride on a Saturday morning (generally 4 hours) and then a 2 to 3 hour road ride on a Sunday. I want to build in some gym or cross fit into my program. Any suggestions out there? What works better, a well strcutured gym program that is cycling specific or two cross fit sessions a week? Any personal experience? I have been riding for a while and have ridden the Joberg2C amongst other stage races so decently fit, but want to work in full body conditioning and somethign different. Cheers
  17. Entered! Looking forward to some good trails! Always fun at van gaalens! And it will get me out of bed as well!
  18. So thinking about doing this race! Did the Joberg2c and the Sani2c a month ago and have only ridden three times on the indoor trainer since then in the past two weeks. Wondering if I will manage the marathon on Saturday? Any thoughts out there?
  19. What's the cost of the cape pioneer?
  20. I see the garden route 200 has a solo entry, never knew the 300 has a solo entry as well! That's awesome if it does, can take my wife and my baby daughter with and stay in some good accomodation and make a garden route Cape Town holiday of it as well! Berg and bush next year, the trails we rode that were part of the joberg2c in that area were amazing. What other stage races towards the end if the year? 3 towers is also on my list but I want a solo stage race on my agenda towards the end if the year and not sure what it is yet
  21. Hi All Thought I would get some ideas from fellow Hubbers. I have done quite a few Mtb stage races and many one day events such as the Nissan series etc. On my list so far of stage races I have done are: Joberg2C Sani2C Sabie experience Magalies adventure What other races would you all recommend, epic for example is too expensive and also maybe looking for a stage race I can do solo.
  22. That's awesome news!! Will we be able to get our joberg2c amped units charged with you as well during the two nights during the Race version? Thanks
  23. Start time for each day is different. Best everyone actually goes and reads the final instructions and not rely on the info from the hub and then blame it on bad organization!
