  1. Not personally riding one, I have a Fuel EX 9.8. But they say the Top Fuel is amazing.
  2. Hi Hubbers, I am currently running a Bontrager stem (60mm) and RaceFace handlebars (780mm, 10mm rise) as pictured. Considering changing to a Funn Kratos bar (810mm with 15mm rise) and a Funn Strippa stem (45mm). This setup is aluminium as opposed to the one I am current running which is carbon. Weight is not something that bothers me. Should the carbon be a consideration at all? My actual question is how will this influence my enjoyment of the trails? Is a setup like this inclined to be a little more forgiving on handling? Thanks Hubbers

    XC/TRAIL BIKE

Trek Fuel EX or Spec Camber might also be worth a look
  4. It isn't technical at all. If you struggle at Meerendal then best to get practice time in first. There are a lot of people that walk a lot of the sections but it is hellavu frustrating for people who want to ride.
  5. Ai, things are not going well. RIP. May his family have peace.

    GIANT or TREK?

You can test ride both bikes in Durbanville, 100m apart. Thats what you should do. Phone ahead though
  7. Yeah...I know...it is so bloody sexy. Spent a lot of time looking at that. I need to use swears to properly explain how nice that is.
  8. Trek Fuel EX 9.8. With some spare change I'd put on 810mm bars. Get a nice pair of shoes and proper trail helmet and Tygerberg membership.

  10. A mountain bike...sorry...couldn't resist
  11. I am 1.83 and ride a 19.5. In my opinion you should probably be on a 19.5. If not at then least an 18.5. If I may ask where did you buy? Seems like they were rushing the sale. Great bike though...enjoy. By the way put up some pics here: https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/164916-post-your-trek/
  12. Also has an extremely dry sense of humour. But seriously... The cover!? What is a suen anyway!? A male Sue? Or as Johnny Cash would say a boy named Sue...
