  1. Lower pressures...more comfort. More grip Less rolling resistance Better puncture resistance (for me)
  2. Bit late to the party here...but where do I go to "see the dots"?
  3. The bike is a Specialized Tarmac Sworks. Best decision ever, absolutely love it! Let's just say the cost was "reasonable"...my wife is sometimes on the Hub
  4. I ride a road bike with disc brakes and absolutely love it. I wouldn't buy another bike without them. I wouldn't say that they have any more stopping power than my previous calliper brakes, but they are just so smooth and modulated. Almost effortless. One finger operation and just super super slick. I feel absolutely zero vibration through the frame at any speed. Also not sure how true it is, but I've been told by someone very much in the know, that Specialized won't be building road bikes with rim brakes after this year. Not sure if that only applies to the higher end bikes, or throughout the range.
  5. I agree. Some bikes just 'do it' for you...and others don't. Not to say they aren't great bikes. I went with my heart and got the Venge. Don't regret it for one moment. Drool over it every time I walk past it in the garage and get the same feeling when I ride it. But hey, that's just me
  6. I based my current bike almost purely on looks. Everytime I walk past it in the garage...I stop for a bit and just stare...drool a bit...and then make whateva excuse necessary to ride it Bikes are expensive and therefore must look good to you. Luckily we all have different tastes though. Mine did come with good components though...certainly makes the decision easier. Good luck with the decision.
  7. Bottom line...they are selling counterfeit products, which is illegal.
  8. Hey Surferchild, no problem at all. Glad I could help out! Besides I only did it because you were riding such an awesome bike???? That wind completely killed me today. Knocked my confidence a bit.
  9. The new Dura Ace 9000 is just so silky smooth its scary. I ended up going with the new Sram Red on my Sworks, and my brother for Dura Ace 9000...don't tell him i said this, but I'd swap tomorrow I always had a yearning for Sram Red. It's just looks incredible. But noisy and clunky compared to Shimano.
  10. Where is the best and cheapest place to buy a Specialized mtb bike in Johannesburg? Also what model is the best option. I want a 29er full suspension, carbon.
