  1. So in my quest to replace the existing bearings in a reign x1 2010 frame I bought, I'm having trouble removing the lower shock pivot bolt (red dot in picture). This thing feels like it's welded in there! I'm not sure if more leverage will work as I can feel the bolt head is developing play from the allen keys! I've left it overnight twice with Q20 to soak in. I left the frame on the side, bottom hole covered and i filled the inner bolt with Q20. So if worst comes to worse and I drill it out , where can I get a replacement bolt from? EDIT: To clarify, I can't remove the nut holding the bolt in place.
  2. I am currently running a Scor rear shock (200x57) on my Giant Reign and I cant seem to find any information regarding the rear shock. It is no longer holding any pressure and I just want to know if it would be worth the money to service or if I should replace. It doesn't perform too bad, given that I am a light weight rider. Much appreciated.
  3. Those of you with marzocchi components know that getting it serviced is not easy to do in South Africa. Since my folks are visiting family in Sydney I figured its a good idea to have Australian agents send my dad a seal kit for my 66 to bring home. Whilst googling I stumbled accross a few companies who manufacture compatable seal kits for all the big names in mountain bike suspension. Particularly Racing Bros, Enduro and SKF. They dont strike me as chinese specials either. I've also noticed that many bike stores in the states, uk and australia use these products regularly when servicing forks etc. Instead of the kits supplied by suspension manufacturers themselves. My question is if any SA based LBS might be using any of these. Maybe even without us knowing? or are we hellbent on original parts only? Read up long enough and you'll notice that some of these guys are using these kits exclusively for years. Many reviews mention the improvements made to seal kits over their original counterparts. There are also many user based raves about the products aswell. It is a mixed bag though. Not everyone is happy. But some people are also complaining about original parts too. So, any experience? Thoughts? http://www.enduroforkseals.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/end_on_pike.jpghttp://probikes.cl/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Enduro-Seals-01.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/ilPvcPI.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/GvGG8wl.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dTtOHaB.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/LJ3vy2G.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IilVCAu.jpg
  4. Hi guys I need some technical assistance. Please view the attached pictures... I have purchased a second hand fork, if one looks at the images, the new fork is missing "the black ring" that goes on to the base of the steerer. Is this a separate part that I need to buy or can I remove it from my current fork? Also, what is called if I need to buy a new one. The previous owner had an adapter as he used it on a bike with a tapered headset.
  5. Hey guys I am struggling to decide which fork to buy. I have a Momsen AL329 frame (tapered). I dont have a huge budget and I have been looking at: RockShox Recon Silver TK Solo Air RockShox XC 32 TK Solo Air Forks Suntour Raidon RST First I Cant find the Rockshox forks at any of the shops near me, they mostly only sell the Reba. I have seen it on CRC for affordable prices. Do you guys have any recommendations on these forks, and also where to get a good deal on them. I would prefer to buy locally, in the JHB area as I would also like to have the steerer cut (if need be) Im not overly keen on buying second hand as most of the forks that I have seen for under R3k look like they have been through the wars.
