  1. Hi all- have removed an older TUBULAR - meaning Glued-on - MTB tyre off of a 26'er Carbon Fibre rim - see pics - and obviously do not want to negatively affect the integrity of the CF, so keen to hear which SOLVENT I could use to remove the H-A-R-D glue? It will not roll off with rubbing with my thumb, like back in the old Triathlon days, - this glue has SET, and is VAS! (pic 1 shows old glue. pic 2 is of clean section. pic 3 is the new Tubulars i have for the rims. pic 4 is of the complete rim (i have front & rear...) thanks CHris
  2. Good Morning. I recently won a set of tubular wheels. I have never ridden on tubulars before and did a lot of research on how to put the tyres on and everything about that. So last week the wheels were ready to ride. I put Continental Gatorskin 25mm tyres on which I thought should be the best puncture resistant. I also put some sealant in the tyre to prevent punctures. I read that people in the UK has gotten 1 000 miles+ on their tubular tyres without any issue. After the ride I fell in love with them and just want to ride the tubby's now. There's just that thought of a puncture in the back of my mind and also the cost involved in replacing such a tyre. My questions are: Is there anybody that can fix a puctured tubby? Who else trains with their tubular wheels? Should I only use the wheels for special occasions?Any views would be great. Thanks.
  3. Hi Guys Has any one had any experience with Continental GP4000 tubs as I will be replacing my Continental Gator skins next week that came with the wheel set. I will be only be racing with them and looking to save some weight compared to the Gator skins. Do the Continental GP4000 have a good puncher protection vs the Continental Competition, I know they not as light but they are ±1000 cheeper for the set. I know a big part of it comes down to luck just trying to minimise the chances of getting a flat. If its a neither here or there ill obviously go with the Competitions. Any comments will help greatly.
