I have to agree, extremely well organised and presented. Hats off to the traffic police as well for doing a sterling job. Compared to the Herald here a month ago, it was a pleasure to ride except for the idiot teen that clipped my wheel to have me crashing at 40km an hour. Somebody needs to explain to sonny about holding your line and if you are going to stand have the common courtesy to say so. But besides that I thought the race was really well organised.

Well I just felt it was a good event? The kiddies race the day before was a good idea, when we did the Herald in PE there was no order on where the specific groups started from, there were guys that were supposed to start half an hour after me that were standing next to me. It seems every corner in East London had marshals/traffic police directing where to go. The route it self was very well policed as one rode close to a number of settlements so the police were visible most of the time. Just the fact that it was well organised, we were simply commenting on it being a pleasure. Is that sufficient for a race report?

100km

791m climbing on the out ride (50km)

329m climbing on the return leg

Full road closure, 8 water points, ladies at the xerox waterpoint hottest every year

Very well organised. Far better than the herald I feel in terms of organisation.

@abercrombie you'll always get a pinhead who does not know how to hold a line.

Good Point Steven! The most important aspect I missed, some very cute girls at water points, plus when they saw the blood on me I was lapping up the attention and sympathy!

I see you feel the same about comparing it to the Herald here, total contrast. Well done to the organisers.

When I did the herald had people from a few groups further back standing in our pen. And there was no one standing with a pen board what pens we should be in. Plus no road closure kinda sucked. Almost crashed into a car heading towards maitlands I think. But all negatives aside I will be back next year.

Ooh the dispatch is way harder than herald. Pity I can't train that route

I know, get lulled into a false sense of accomplishment that you're just about to survive this and then that hits you. When I saw it I had the feeling that someone had a warped sense of humour
