NF is one of a handful of places for cyclist, and sincerely think that as cyclists, we should voice our protest at such moves. doris Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 The commercial development being proposed by the JPC, called Ga Noka (Diepsloot Ext 8), spans about 287 663m2 and includes 6 260 residential units 36000 residents vs 360 riders - aint gonna win nothing - housing is King - cyclist will need to move on

I also noted the words water works and "future expansion". Surely the water treatment works needs to be expanded first and then settle in the new folks in. As usual the essential items that require government spending are being left to last or not at all. What about the roads that will be carrying in huge amounts of additional traffic ? I live just off Beyers and cannot see how this is gonna work, Beyers and other roads into Joburg are a nightmare ! lets just add a few more thousand motorists. AAAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH. This all sounds far to familiar. OK maybe I'm just being a tad negative and a prat ?
Seeker911 Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Sorry folks this type of thing drives me nutty. When are we as a people going to realize there is only so much oxygen to go around. The planet can only support so many people. There are already toooooo many people. You cannot keep breeding in an uncontrolled fashion and simply expand and expand ... its fricken crazy. I was watching "the cove" on TV last night and was disgusted by what I saw. What we do need to do is come up with a plan to control and reduce the amount of people on the planet. As an economics grad I understand how things work in the world but it cannot continue like this
