I am looking at the large trance x3 currently in the classifieds here Does anyone have experience on these bikes. The problem with this specific one is I would need to upgrade the front to have a FD ie. shifters, chain rings/crankset, FD what would these upgrades cost me realistically? Beer4Recovery Posted June 14, 2011 Share DJR, since you ride a trance X, maybe you could help me. I just went to look at the 2011 Trance X3 @ Cajees. They took a in-leg measurement and according to that it's a 18.5" (a medium according to them). My current bike is a large, and my height is 1.86, I am just worried i need a large in stead of a medium. should i rather settle for a smaller frame than a larger one? DJR Posted June 14, 2011 Share Short answer: Get a Large Long answer: I'm 1,84m tall and the large fits me perfectly, right down to the long 120mm stem the bike came with. It is 100% balanced climbing and decending very steep and rough stuff. I think the Medium will be a bit cramped for your height and it will limit your ability to move forward and back on the bike when you ride technical trails, which is exactly what this bike excells at. I have a trance x2 its the best bike ive ever owned. Climbs well, descends like a beast handles anything i can throw at it.
