LeTurbo Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 So come, DaLoCo, what's the ride report? I can't believe you're sitting there looking at the bike without actually having taken her out, even for a half hour or so...

DaLoCo Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 SO, the first ride was awesome. The bike is very comfortable I did not go far, the rear tyre has slow leak.  This was a lot more comfy on the drops than my merida, and feels very responsive. The toe cages need some getting used to, I kept pulling my feet out when pushing a bit harder Anybody have any idea on these tyres? I don't know what hat loose piece of canvas is between the tyre and rim?Â
TNT1 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Pulling your feet out the cages... Do you have the correct cleats?
TNT1 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Should be comfortable, old steel gets like el dente spaghetti...
TNT1 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Oh, and to get a shine on the spokes, use a green scourer and brasso...
DaLoCo Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Pulling your feet out the cages... Do you have the correct cleats? I need cleats?  I thought these cages were just a matter of sticking your takkies in and pedalling?
TNT1 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I need cleats?  I thought these cages were just a matter of sticking your takkies in and pedalling?  You need cleats with a slot in them that the rear edge of the pedal goes into...http://www.yellowjersey.org/BLUCLEA3.JPGhttp://farm6.static.flickr.com/5015/5426777152_3d240cb1d6.jpg Understand?  Noobs. FFS!
TNT1 Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 By the by, those lace up red Vottoria's are the sexiest shoes I have ever seen. I need to go get a tissue to wipe my keyboard. And change my pants.
DaLoCo Posted May 6, 2011 Author Posted May 6, 2011 Those Vittoria's are the beans  And BTW. If I was 60 I would still be a noob when it comes to these pedals  I suppose I should have asked my dad...he used to have a Viking with the same setup

FFS! New age cyclists When I started my fun riding I had a pair of toe clip & cleat leather cycling shoes. Nothing as sexy as these, but still a gazillion times sexier than any synthetic material shoes out there now Ok, some might take that as a challenge  Replaced the toe clips with a pair of proper clipless LOOKs which cost the royal sum of R300(/340?) 'twas a few years ago... like 20!
