Ever heard of the "Idaho Stop"

Wiki is our friend.........but I had never heard of it before I searched it.

 

Left turn on Ref light after coming to a complete stop. Legal in Germany and a couple of states in the USA.

 

Widely practiced in SA although obviously illegal.............. but then there are so many other illegal activities that this doesn't seem to bother us either.

Gosh, their tourism authority has been busy - I guess it's good to get your name into something, even if it is only a stop. And I guess Idaho ain't exactly the busiest state in the whole world. But yes, in quiet suburbs I do "Idaho stop" most times, but wouldn't be dumb enough to try it on any of the busier roads. (They don't say anything about having to stop at the stop sign in order to catch your breath though. Does that count, light-bulb wise?)
