white tiger Posted May 10, 2011 Share Hi My budget is about R 22 500.How do I decide? Do I buy a full suspention aluminium bike, a hardtail carbon bike or an fairly decent aluminium 29'er.I'm thinking along the lines of Merida Ninty-Six 3000D, Specialized Stumpjumper 29'er - I think you get the picture.Silverback aslo offer a few very good possibilities!! Between the three type of bikes what would you go for??
Caerus Posted May 10, 2011 Share We would need to know what type of riding you intend doing? Also pics & specs of each bike would also go a very long way in helping you out

gummibear Posted May 10, 2011 Share I have ridden the Merida 96 3000D and it is a really good race bike and specs are good for the price.

Just Keep Pedaling Posted May 11, 2011 Share "At the moment - 104 kg. But I am working on bringing it down, hopefully to about 92 kg." Like me you are too big to worry about weight of the bike. Go for the strongest one. Avoid carbon.
