To be honest I don't have much experience riding in cycle parks and trails other than Groenkloof, so I guess my opinion don't carry that much weight. But, wen't riding at Teak's place for the first time yesterday and boy, what an experience!

In my mind it beats groenkloof hands down! I had so much fun there yesterday, even after taking a dive into the dam when my bike slid out underneath me.

The trails were fun, a joy to ride one. The amenities at the end, the bike stands, bike wash and restaurant was just pure win. So fun to just chill after a ride and have a beer and a sandwich and sharing war stories (like my dive into the dam after failing to keep my bike straight on that bridge!)

It's a pity though that it's so far from Pretoria. Makes it a mission to go there, but will try to make a monthly trip!

Teak is a jol, but if you think it is good, you should ride van gaalens...did you guys ride both side of the road at teak, there is a nice piece of fast singletrack on the non-restaurant side which will test your descending skills

I prefer teak's restaurant though, their triple decker toasted samies are the bomb.

After not being there for a while we went on saturday and yep it is really good. We took a few newbies with us and we all had a blast !

The floating bridge is good entertainment !

Only downside is that breakfast ends at 11:30 :(

Hi,

I have just visited the Teak website and the trails look lekka! What route would you recommend for a first time visitor?

We ride regularly at Groenkloof (love the track), how would the two compare? Does it get busy over weekends at Teak?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Black route is supergroovy... Its all i do... 700m descent in 25km... yummy... Groenkloof is half that - but then groenkloof does not have the slate rocks!

My best part has gotta be the downhill after the the "viewpoint", the windy bits in the pines, the part next to the river...

my only issue is the slate-type rocks that provide the perfect slippery UN-terra-firma when leaning in to corners on the descent after the first windy climb to the "viewpoint"... - perhaps I need to learn how to ride better
