I just think thye are wondering where the rest of your fork is

That lefty is freaking light though, the new 29er SID they are quoting at 1578g for the XX WC model with maxxle and remote.

9mm qr version with keronite grey finish will be up to 100g less so about the same weight as the entry level lefty

THough they dont say what amount of travel the SID is 80 or 100mm for the quaoted weight

My flash carbon is a medium, and weighs in a 9.4kg with xtr pedals, 9.8kg with bottles and cages and pedals and marathon set up. I am 1.78m tall, the medium is a perfect fit, with the 100mm stem.

The cannondale headset forms part of the lefty, so it doesn't change. I imagine it will be precey.

29er is a very different ride from 26er. Just finished Sani on mine and it was the perfect bike for the trails.

Kenny thanks for the info.

The Alu model doesnt use the OPI stem though, so it looks like I would be able to reverse it if I want to get lower onto the bars ? I like my setup to have some drop to the bars to get lower over the front end and not sit too upright but will see how the bike is once I get to actually sit on it.

Need to phone the shop, hopefully they've built the thing and I can come for a test spin.

Went to the shop, bike not built as arranged and still waiting for some sort of bolts to mount the rear brake to the frame from the supplier.

Not having a positive experience so far. Omnico again proven pretty sucky.

Oh and shop not willing to swop/credit parts on the bike

Hi there, WW, get the Bicycling Magazine of this month - 29er Shootout - the Flash is in there. It might help you to read a review as well. Flash looks awesome....and they weight it!! I am seriously looking at the Momsen due to budget constraints....

Rode the bike, like it and doesnt feel too funny, but still not ideal to judge from a carpark ride.

May go for a 110mm stem and put my narrower bars on, the wide bendy ones on the bike just doesnt do it for me

Alu is R20k RRP, Unsure which carbon models are available here, carbon 2 about R38k.

SA site shows a carbon 3 but shops not really clear as to whether it is actually available here in SA
