katz201 Posted May 25, 2011 Share Like everyone else on this site I love cycling... on the tar or dust/mud.... I have realised what a difference cycling has made in my own life. I would love to help share this experience with those less privileged than me. But where to go? What to do? If anyone knows of active charity organisations/groups in the Cape Town area that promotes cycling in underprivileged communities, please let me know. I would love to give a helping hand! Let's Ride Posted May 25, 2011 Share Well I am treasurer for Wynberg Rotaract (www.wynbergrotaract.co.za)and we are always open to project ideas. Maybe we could organize sponsorship of helmets (rotaract will pay the difference maybe with the help of hubbers???) and then find a suitable community or club in a relatively poor area that is need of helmets and make a donation? If we can get a good discount then this project could happen. Discussions? Feel free to add us on FB and maybe even come to one of our meetings. Last weekend we painted 7 classrooms at Constantia primary school with the help of Groot Constantia which offers us a venue for our annual fundraiser "Uncle Paul's Christmas Party". Otherwise we can partner with another organisation. Edited May 25, 2011 by Specialized <
