Hi

We are all the same. When you are cycling it is all about what makes YOU feel good,not your wife or the children but YOU.

So you have spare money and you are thinking UPGRADE!!! To me that means something on tthat bike is bothering you.

My advice is to sit down and be honest with yourself and then upgrade whatever is bothering you OR would help you to feel better about getting up early in the morning to go and cycle.Cycling is personal so do not try and please any one else but yourself. If you do not know yourself what to spend your money on then you are happy so let it be and spend the money on your girl/wife and I promise happy cycling of a different kind would put a smile on your dile. :thumbup: :thumbup: :clap: :clap: :clap:

1. wheelset (tubeless)

2. Crankset

3. shock

you will loose alot of weight changing the above mentioned items

then replace things as they break,

But cash for grams.

Current wheelset- prob around 2kg - R3500 American classics 1500g ? thats 500g

Current Cranks- around 1kg - R900 SLX from CRC 750g? thats 250g

Fork current RS Tora around 2400g R2500 Reba/recon off the hub 1700g thats 700g

its not 100% accurate but food for thought.

I gotta agree with the majority on this one... wheels. Everytime I've bought a bike, it's been the first big ticket item I upgrade.

Pardon me, I looked at the pic, I see It already has a recon on it. I'll then substitute it with a FS frame :clap:

5k is going to make it really difficult!! you would have to choose only one like you say Bos

but i have bang for buck worked out as follows

wheelset

current = 2120g

AM tubeless = 1486g

saving = 634g

crankset

current = 990g

aerozine = 676g

saving = 314g

shock

current = 1905g

reba = 1625g

sid wc = 1400g

savings = 280g or 505g

but its gonna cost you round 10k to drop 1.5 kilos :o

unless like you mentioned Bos you do some shopping on the hub! :clap:
