I have a dud Sigma Nipack battery for my Sigma Evo lights. I have tried charging and discharging a few times, but it doesn't hold a charge anymore :( .

Is there a DIY solution anyone can offer as an alternative to buying a new Sigma Nipack battery?

Is it a NiMH battery pack? There are companies that rebuild battery packs at a fraction of the replacement cost, including a guarantee. There is a company down in Cape Town called Melzer Agencies T/A MPower and MPhoto. You should look into that. I've had them do Laptop batteries, Hugh end testers, etc. They do warn you that they need to cut the pack open and that you might notice a seam where the pack has been resealed. I could, however, not notice where the seam was on all the battery packs they did for me.

Good luck

Answer to your question....it is broken....same happened to me

Bought a one with two evo lights....used the pack about 5 times....wanted to use it after a 6month period of not suing the lights....charged it and then...hooray it does not even switch on the lights....not even a single one.

So I am currently looking for a replacement but the sigma distributor in SA SUCKS!!! Cause they simply dont reply your emails....

It will be better to scrap the Sigma all together and get a Magicshine light. To buy those batteries you will pay about R700. Remove the brackets from the lights and toss them. The brackets are worth more then the lights.

Thanks for the advice.

The lights are not the greatest and there are definitely better products on the market. The bottom line is I cannot justify the cost of a new set of lights considering I only use the lights a few times a year.

I'll continue to investigate a battery replacement option with some of the local specialist battery suppliers.
